As long as it's from the issuer. A certified copy is a copy from the issuer. My certified copy birth certificate is not the same format as my original (which was lost and didn't have my parents name on it anyhow.)

Ok guys.... so I've been trying to get all the things that we might need for the NVC and so far here's what we have : I-864EZ (since I am the only sponsor), tax transcript, photos of us, emails, phone logs originals and copies of marriage license and both my BC and his BC translated.....now my question is the DS 260 is what we get to pay online for the NVC when they get our case right? Also what is the IV bill slightly confused on this one?

Yes 7 if your sister is the joint sponsor. If you have a better joint sponsor I would use them.

yeah, i think we'll have to wait for my aunt.

ei, NLR, would you think it'll be a good idea if we just sent in the AOS packet now w/o joint sponsor. NVC will issue checklist anyways right? atleast they'd review my husbands :)

plus i read somewhre in this thread (can't find it again tho) they were issued checklist asking for joint sponsor and was asked to just submit it at the embassy...

Hi! You may want to take another look at the second post in this thread. It explains everything you need and for what purpose. Basically, at NVC there are two major steps that need to happen: 1) the petitioner will submit an Affidavit of Support (AOS), demonstrating financial support of the beneficiary (I-864 is the AOS); and 2) the beneficiary applies for an Immigrant Visa (IV) (DS260 is the application). So, each one of these steps have a processing fee. These two fees will only be available after your case enters NVC's system and case numbers are assigned and after you file the DS-261 online (if you don't have a lawyer).

Hi! You may want to check at the US embassy/ consulate for the documents they require at the interview. If it's like my country, you'll also need original/certified copies for the interview, even if they've been sent to NVC.

Hey, Saylin or anyone else who can help me get an answer helpsmilie.gif

So, I am filling out the I-864 and got stuck in some places

1. Part 2 says information on the Principal applicant, in the mailing address section do I put the petitioner or beneficiary's address? My husband does not have a mailing address and he is the immigrant, can I just put mine?

2. Part 3, Number 1 asks to check yes or no if I am sponsoring the principal immigrant. Next to no, it says "applicable only in cases with two joint sponsors". I am not sure what to put, I am dependent on my dad, he will be a joint sponsor and also another person. So I do have 2 joint sponsors, so I put no?

3. Since I am a student and unemployed, for Part 6 on the sponsor's Income and Employment, do I just put unemployed? It asks for date since unemployed, what do I put?

Lastly...

4. In Part 6, there is a section for persons to add that are in your household and you are using their income, do I add my dad in the household and place him here as Person 1 or not?

Sorry for all the questions, but I am so confused. jest.gif

Thanks.

1. Principal applicant is the person applying for the visa. That's the beneficiary. And unless your spouse is homeless, he has an address. It has to be his, not yours.

2. Well, if you have 2 joint sponsors and you're not contributing any income, then follow the instructions and check no.

3. If you're not employed, I'm not sure what else you would put there except for unemployed. And put the date when you first became unemployed.

4. If your dad is going to be a joint sponsor, no.

Is it alright that we already sent our DS-260 before our IV?

Doesn't matter what order they receive things, as long as they get everything in the end.

hi Saylin, can you help please on the I864 part 6, 13a, most recent total income, I was unemployed but at the end of the year I started working, should I put the total wages plus the unemployment compensation in that box? thank you for your help.

No. The number has to come from tax information, not W2s. Read the instructions right on that question. It states exactly what number to use.

I applied for a visitors visa in early 2010, I had an appointment for an interview so I went. The interviewee said that i don't have enough supporting papers so they gave the form back to me and my passport without any denied stamp, only written no enough supporting docs on my application. it's nearly 4 yrs. Would it affect my port of entry or during my interview? Anyone with the same experience, pls reply. Saylin pls help me.

No, it shouldn't. Especially if you weren't denied.

I couldn't find the answer on Saylin's FAQ buuuuut is it okay to just submit a copy of my husband's 2013 W-2 and make a note on the cover letter that I'll be bringing the original with me to the interview?

Tax information can be copies, it doesn't have to be originals. The only thing in the AOS package that needs to be originals are the forms themselves and the employment letter.

You guys make my Super Mario crying now. cray5ol.gifcray5ol.gifcray5ol.gif

All that people are here and posting and checking NVC thread everyday.

Also, they gave Noa2 date and NVC received date to Saylin themselves,

Might they forgot to tell about service centers coz they were so happy that time with their Noa2 approval.

That's why I just corrected it..

why you guys having problem with that?wow.gif

Somebody ought to introduce this guy to prepositions.

buddy..

nobodys is "talking like an admin".

you are doing a bunch a work on behalf of someone else.

that someone else may not have filled out their respective timelines and they may not be interested in providing future NVC data

its a little counterintuitive to say that "they don't find this thread helpful" and then request someone to put their data in.

just so you know - the admins deleted my entry in the NVC timesheet at least once because I hadn't filled in my timeline.

Did anyone see changes to their cases during the weekend? Fees made available? Access to system when it was giving an error before?

There was talk of NVC working Saturdays, just wanted to see if there was any movement for anybody this weekend.

Only one person can update the spreadsheet. That's me. A VJ admin doesn't have control over Google Docs. I was the one that removed you from the spreadsheet since you never replied to my request of what service center you went through (or something like that).

Previous tourist visa denials have no effect on an immigration case. Don't worry about it.

hi saylin,

i hope all is well. My case was completed and now just waiting for it to get shipped to the Consulate and the interview date.

i know i have to remain employed with my current employer till her interview. Does that mean i can put in my 2 weeks resignation notice after the visa is approved?

I want to go visit and see my wife, visit her family, perhaps travel to a different country for a week then come back to the States together.

thanks,
