I'm sorry I haven't read all 120 pages on this thread so don't know if it's been said already. You can file MFS using e-filing if you use H&R Block. I don't know if any other software works also.

With H&R Block, if you leave your foreign spouse's SSN blank, it takes you to another page where you can select a reason why it's blank. In our case, because we're not yet permanent residents or citizens.

The return went through no problem and my husband paid the taxes he owed without any obstacles.

Again, sorry if this was already mentioned.

I was able to E-File with MFS status using TaxAct under the free EFile option.

My I-129F got to NVC yesterday and they already assigned a case number to it.

They told it will most likely get attached to teh I-130 since both of them made it to NVC, but it is taking 30 business day for a case number for the I-130.

I really hope the I-129F makes it all the way.

11/17/2016: Got engaged
11/28/2016: I-130 sent to Chicago IL lock box
01/12/2016: NOA1

No not right now, I just graduated nursing school and am waiting to take my boards on 3/27, can't work without my license. Yes my father is my cosponsor

Then simply write a letter saying you didn't file taxes because you were attending post secondary education. Your father is your JOINT sponsor, not co-sponsor. He should file an I-864. No need to combine income or prove you live at the same house and are related if you don't have to (aka because you didn't make an income.)

i have the copy of the 1040, just without signature/date. i'll probably have to send my AOS after mid april and my tax tanscript won't be available at that point

That should be fine.

Just checking in: My husband doesn't need Hep A vaccination right? He's 24

For immigration purposes, no. This is what is required for those aged 18-64: http://www.panelphysicians.com/Pages/Age6.htm (Read carefully as some are for specifically age 18).

Case number assigned 3/10/14. Paid AOS today, will likely send package tomorrow or over the weekend since I anticipate it will show up as paid by then. Please update spreadsheet. Thanks!

HI

My wife is Canadian and I just submitted my AOS online. Did it really take 19 days to get just a confirmation that they received it? I think another Canadian applicant Christopher just asked the question of how long it will take to get an acknowledgement of receipt of the AOS

By the way all the trouble that i had to go through and now wait for confirmation, it seems a hell of a lot easier and faster just to mail everything. So far I dont see any benefit at all to this EP thing.

Hello Collie,

Did you find out it was logged into the system by calling the NVC? Just curious as I sent mine by email on March 6th which is when your timeline says NVC received yours. I called them this morning and they said its not showing as received yet, strange that mine would take 3 more days to log in.... thank you.

I called them this morning to find out. They apparently logged it in on Monday but when I called yesterday, I was told they had not yet received it, so not sure what all that was about.

I was able to E-File with MFS status using TaxAct under the free EFile option.

Thanks for that info on TaxAct. It will be helpful for us. I did not want to manually submit the tax return after e-Filing for several years.

It does not look like you are in the spreadsheet. Please request Ms. Saylin to add you.

Then simply write a letter saying you didn't file taxes because you were attending post secondary education. Your father is your JOINT sponsor, not co-sponsor. He should file an I-864. No need to combine income or prove you live at the same house and are related if you don't have to (aka because you didn't make an income.)

That should be fine.

I sent in my Aos and Iv packets already, I filled out the I864 and sent my tax returns from 2010,2011&2012 along with my joint sponsers info. So you are suggesting that when my husband goes to the interview he should bring the letter from me and my joint sponsers taxes from 2013 plus an updated I864? Thanks for your help :)
