Does anyone know what exact checks are done during the i130? I heard crminal checks, if so why do I need

a police certificate? ( I have nothing to hide it's just extra £££)

Also I understand I can't use my new DBS (CRB) enhanced check, it has to be a certain department issued certificate. Is the information on a DBS and a ACPO Policer certificate not the same?

Beneficiary - Applying for CR1/IR1 (but also played the K3 card prior to understanding it may be phased out.)

2013: July 20: I-130 sent (Chicago lockbox)

July 24: I-130 NOA1

July 24: I-129F sent (Dallas Lockbox)

Aug 2: I-129F NOA1

Aug 12: Alien Registration Number was changed, I-129F.

2014: Jan 28/29/30: - 3 transfer notices for I-130 and I-129F.

Feb 3 - Hard copy arrived -Notice of transfer to Texas stating Jan 29th.

Feb 10 - NOA2

Feb 27 - email stating I-130 being sent to NVC from TSC.

March 6 -NVC received our case.

April 7 - CASE NUMBER yay! IIN and BIN obtained and email given.

April 9 - DS261 available and filled in online.

April 9 - AOS not yet payable but visible.

April 10 - email regarding NVC case number and access to DS261 received/ email regarding AOS received and paid.

April 11 - AOS sent by snail mail.

April 14 - AOS arrived per mail tracking.

April 15 - IV bill received via email, IV bill paid/ in process, IV package sent.

April 18 - IV bill showing paid/ DS-260 available and done!

- AOS scanned into their system.

April 21 - IV package arrived per mail tracking.

April 24 - IV scanned into their system.

May 2 - False checklist for IV documents= AOS approval.

May 13 - NVC rep reported ? missing Police certificate via my phone call.

- Supervisor review initiated.

May 14 - Checklist for Police certificate came via email.

- Sent checklisted documentation priority post!

May 15 - Package delivered per mail tracking.

May 19 - Case COMPLETE!! Police certificate found by NVC:)

May 28 - Case complete email arrived.

May 30 - Assigned Interview date!

June 2 - Interview letter arrived via email.

June 11- Medical appointment Surrey, BC

July 8 - Interview in Montreal!! APPROVED!!!!!!!! July 10 - Visa package and passport in hand!! July 23 - POE!!

Is there a mistake in the instructions for the I864a regarding the section 2 for the sponsor?

It refers to using information off the I864 number 8 and number 9, which I don't see on the I864.

I ignored the instructions on that and completed what the form requests, but I find it hard to believe that such an oversight can occur and wonder why that mistake doesn't get corrected? I may have to dig on the USCIS website and see if there is a place to report this mistake.

You and me both... The delay at NVC is increasingly becoming unbearable and I know it's no fault of theirs cos USCIS just picked up the pace of approvals energy.gif . Also I wish spring was here with no cold weather and snow digging whistling.gif

The criminal checks with the petition are done for the USA. They cannot check other country's databases, only the FBI and Interpol. Most of the checks during the petition are done on the petitioner, not the beneficiary.

I don't know much about UK record checks. You may want to ask in your regional forum.

Hey Guys, checking in here........

I got my case approved from on 7th Feb ( USCIS says that your case was approved), however on 6th Feb itself, USCIS case status was that my application was sent to NVC for visa processing (it was from Nebraska service centre). It waited for entire feb month to get a case number but till now no luck with that.

I have got no mails regarding acceptance of the case at the NVC or assigning a case number. (I got hard copy of NOA2 on 11 Feb).

Is it really taking so much time for NVC to issue a case number??? Should i go back to USCIS and ask them if they have sent my application to NVC or not? OR should i call NVC guys if they have received my application.

I called NVC several times a week after NOA2 to find out if and when they received our case file. For me calling in the evenings (around 7 pm California) worked best. I suggest you call NVC on Monday to find out the date they received your case. Then count at least 20 working days to figure out about when you will receive the Case #. Again start calling NVC towards the end of that time period.

Hey saylin sorry about ur lost god bless her soul. ..I have confusing quiz my friend wife is his sponser n she have 2012n 2011 n 2010 tax all above poverty average but he say that in 2013 it's behind average he afried that in interview day the officer could ask for it so should he use aco-sponser before sending AOS package ? N if so is it ganna b acceptable by the nvc since the there years will b above the line ??

Please what is the poverty average?

It depends on your household size. A new guideline gets released every March 1st. Here's the 2014 one:

Take note that this is the Federal guideline. USCIS/NVC requires you to make 125% (military personnel only needs 100%) of the dollar amount for your household otherwise you would need a joint sponsor (or use assets).
