Got some questions about the ds260 for a 10 yr old kid,

1. when they ask for present address do i give the current physical address or is it the mailing address.

2. when they ask have you lived anywhere other than this addresses since the age of 16 i say NO despite the fact that i have moved to different addresses with her since she was born.

3. on the education part when they ask for course of study; degree or diploma--is elementary school sufficient or i leave it blank or write n/a

Anyone please answer this question.. How would you know if the AOS or IV package you sent is received in NVC? I dont have a tracking number because my atty is the one who send it. On post 1 or 2 in this forum says, even though i call them i wont be able to find out if they received it unless its under review already. Thank you!

Ask your attorney when and how did he send it? If he sent via fed ex or dhl etc thn call 5th business to check if they received it and if scanned for review..

Well, I have sent all my husbands court records which we got the checklist for but we are still waiting for his LONG FORM birth certificate from Thunderbay. I sent a letter to NVC that we have ordered the birth cert. and to please complete our case and that we will bring the birth cert. to our interview. I even sent a letter from Service Ontario that the birth cert had been ordered. Saylin do you think they will move forward or will they require the cert. before they will schedule our interview in Montreal?

Basically there's two ways you can look at the definition of the NVC "receiving" the case. If you had the tracking number, you can see when your package actually arrived at the NVC. However, it is not officially "received" until the NVC scans it, which is when you start counting the 30 days for review.

You can call a week or two after you've sent your packages to see if the NVC has "received" the packages. They won't tell you which package they received, but you can determine that by which package you sent first.

Yes...about 45 calendar days....that seems to be true.....I am hopeful to get mine in the next 2 or 3 days.....

Hoping someone on here is computer savy. I am trying to scan all my documents into computer to send to NVC. I scan and save them as PDF. Scanned at 300ppi. The income tax return alone is over 9MB it is12 pages, I tried scanning at a lower ppi, file is about 6MB, but when printed out it is barely ledgeable. When it comes time to do paystubs there will be 16- 20 pages. So need to figure this out. Any ideas on how cut down on file size but keep the quality. I am using HP printer, and do not have Adobe Acrobat, only Adobe Reader. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

But I am now in Thailand and before I got my citizenship they have already checked my background. Because I don't live there anymore. How can I get if I don't live there anymore. What should I do?

For us they said 30 working days from NVC receive date or 6 weeks. We actually received our Case # in 36 calendar days.

So I am guessing you would get your Case # any day now. Good luck.

They provide 30 working days as a standard. My first AOS package was reviewed after 12 working days. However, I know that their workload is increasing so that may not always be the case.

I just looked at the screenshots for the DS-260. Holy sheep. I know that it is an older version but maybe for those of you who have filled it out recently can give me insight. Do they still ask for beneficiaries parents names, birth dates/death dates, all addresses lived at since age 16? All previous employers?

That's a ####### load of info that I need to get from my parents if this is the case. I guess I also need to ask them if they have ever been a member of the Taliban, since that question is on there too!

Didn't see anyone respond to this yet... the DS 260 will be available once the status shows "PAID".

Also, you should already have access to the bar coded sheet. When you sign into the fee portal, click on "payment receipts". There will be a link there for "Print Document Cover Sheet" or "Email Document Cover Sheet".

After paying the AOS, how long did it take to show as PAID?
