My advance parole has been pending since nov 26th. So 95 days now. I also havent received my EAD.

I have called USCIS 3 times this week, on Monday they said that the NBC is looking at applications they received on nov 22nd. They said the same thing on Wednesday. And they said they cant put a service request for me because my case is still in the normal processing time! Well, It cant be because it says on their website that the prosessing time for I-131 is 3 months.

So, then I called them again today, and now the lady said that they are looking at the applications from oct 16th?????

Im really stressed about this beacuse I need to go to Finland soon.

What should I do? Any suggestions?

moved to Minneapolis, MN June 10th
6/10/2014 RFE regarding my birth certificate(It was their own mistake, my birth certificate was exactly what they need)
6/11/2014 RFE response mailed to USCIS by our lawyer
6/11/2014 I-485 status moved to Initial review after telling USCIS our new address
7/2/2014 I-485 status moved to Testing and Interview

7/21/2014 EAD to card/document production yayy :)

7/22/2014 AP status chagend to post desicion activity

7/25/2014 EAD combo card mailed

7/29/2014 EAD combo card arrived at my old address(address was changed TWO times before that, even by my lawer and USCIS still had my old address)

-my parents-in-law are sending it to me overnight

Travelled to Finland with my husband for 3 weeks in August. Came back with my Advance Parole, POE in Chicago, no problems with AP.

10/7/2014 Interview date

10/8/2014 I485 status moved to card/document production! HAPPY :)

I know you don't want to hear this, but I'm not sure there's anything you CAN do. You did have an RFE, if I recall correctly, so that does add some time to the processing, and they do estimate 90 days without any RFE, so you're not really out of the accepted processing times. And if they won't file a service request for you, then there's really nothing to do but wait.

You could contact a congressman, or try an info-pass appointment where you can talk face-to-face and try to get an official to expedite or service-request your AP, but given that it really hasn't been that long yet, in my opinion there's not much chance of success there.

There are many filers from November who haven't gotten their EAD/AP yet, you're not alone. Many have (like us, we were lucky I suppose), but unfortunately you just have to wait. I'm sorry that it messes with your plans for the trip home, but ... there are no guarantees on timelines in immigration!

AOS filed November 19, 2013, EAD/AP received January 30, 2014, interview and AOS Approval on February 27, 2014.

ROC filed December 3, 2015, NOA1 12/4/15, Biometrics 12/31/15, ROC Approval on June 16, 2016, 10-Year Green Card received June 22, 2016.

N400 filed September 14, 2023, same day acceptance and Biometric Reuse notice, Interview on 2/13/24: Passed and same day oath. ALL DONE WITH USCIS.

No RFE at any stage, thanks to VisaJourney!

2013 November 19: AOS, AP, EAD sent (NOA 1 on 11/22/13)
2013 December 17: Biometrics, San Marcos, CA, 2013 December 24: Online status changed to Testing/Interview

2014 January 23: Interview notice mailed (for 2/27), 2014 January 24: EAD card production, AP approval (card received 1/30/2014)

2014 February 27: Interview and Approval, GC in production (card received March 6, 2014)

 

ROC:

2015 December 03: mailed I-751 package

2015 December 04: NOA1 extension letter, 2015 December 31: Biometrics appointment

2016 June 16: Approval - Online status changed to Document Production, mailed 6/20/16

2016 June 22: 10-Year Green Card Received, done with USCIS for a while!

 

N-400 Citizenship:

2023 September 14: filed N-400 online

2023 September 14: same day acceptance notice and "Biometrics Reuse" notice

2023 December 28: notice of interview scheduled for February 13, 2024

2024 February 13: naturalization interview (five-year rule) passed, same day oath - now a US Citizen and done with USCIS!

Should I trust though that I will get my AP within one month from now? We are planning to have our wedding in Finland on May 24th. My husband is going back to school in June so we can't really go to Finland anytime soon after that.

I already have a flight ticket for April 9th but I can change the date for that. So can I just trust that I will get my AP in time for the wedding? :)
