i just called the civil surgeon in my area and i have to pay 250$ to get the I693...unfortunatelly the woman though, told me that i also need a HIV test?!?!?! is this true? cause i never heard of it.....

all i knew that i have to bring is the vaccination suplement i got from the embassy

also, can anyone give me the link to the uscis page where it says that k1 holders do not have to pay anything for the I693???

I don't believe there is a page stating K1 holders do not have to pay anything for the I-693. It is entirely up to the Civil Surgeon how much they charge for transferring the vaccination data from the DS-3025 to the I-693 form.

Many people here complain that the civil surgeons will not just transfer the vaccination information, and insist upon the K1 holder undergoing a complete physical examination. It's all about bucks....

I had to have an HIV Test for the medical back in my homecountry BEFORE I moved over here.

For the I-693a, I only had to have the vaccination information transferred.....no other testing...no medical...and certainly no 250 $ (mine was 80 $ I think....or 65 $? I forgot already )

My advice: Look for another doctor who will let you just transfer the vaccinations onto the I-693a.

i think you are right i think i had one too at the medical in bucharest, but they didnt write that down anywhere, so all i have are my shots(2 i think) that i got at the medical...i hope that will work....im in louisiana and i have one doc in the city i live in that asks for the 250$ and another one in the city my MIL lives that asks for 160$ so i think i will go with the last one(this last one said that all i need to bring was my vaccination sheet; the 250$ one said i need the HIV test too)the other doctors are too far away from me unfortunately.

I paid $10 to have David's vaccination records transferred. We did it all my mail between MI and TX.

WOWWW !! this is unbelievable! i just called the doc's office and they will indeed send me the I693 and all of this for 10 $. im a little confused though because i have the shot record from the embassy but how do i know i have all the vaccines done?!?! what if im missing some? what do i do then?

anyway, THANK YOU a lot for your help and ill let you know when or if ill get all the papers back!!

ok, i found the difference between those 2 forms

but im confused with something else now i had my medical in bucharest in may 2005 and we applied for AOS in september 2005...i got the interview notice for february 2007 and the lady doc said she'll just transfer my shots on the I693 A....but i also read somewhere on VJ that if the medical in done within one year bla bla bla....aparently, mine is not...or is it one year till we submit the aos? or one year till the interview..

can someone please explain it to me??

It expires one year from having the medical done but if they're willing to give you the I693A without a new medical maybe you'll be ok? I dunno.

Wait, I didn't read your entire post right. Since you applied for AOS when the medical was still good I think you should be fine. I was reading it like you applied after the medical was expired.

i knew that too, but on interview notice , where it says you must bring the following items with you it says among others : " a completed medical examination (form I693) and vaccination supplement in a sealed envelope. ( unless already submitted)

now , does it mean that im gonna have I693 and I693 A ?? im so confused

Well, I could make guesses but I'd rather not since they're not educated and I don't wanna say the wrong thing. Hopefully someone with better knowledge comes along!
