Updating oath ceremony experience.

I arrive at 1120 am this morning and gosh there was a long line . I was told the 830am oath ceremony was just finishing up. So one of the USCIS workers said we are trying to get everyone out as quickly as possible so we can start entering the theatre. My Ceremony was scheduled to start at 1230 pm and it was delayed there was 475 ppl to be sweared in and 60 different counties.

We entered the theater at 1245 got seated and I notice that I was wearing to different type of shoes hahaha. Luckily my cousin took the shoes with him so I quickly change my shoes . The ceremony stated by introducing to register to vote then sang the stars spangled song after they called all the individual counties to stand up there after we all took the oath and congratulated us on becoming new U.S. citizens. I'm so so happy that this journey is over .

I'm proud to say that I m a U.S. citizens for this nation . Good luck to everyone els and now it's time for me to start my next chapter in life.

Congratulations!!! Almost done...

Hi all! Done with my interview today! My appointment was at 8:35am in San Bernardino, CA office. There were about 15 people waiting already. Got there around 8:15 and was called in around 8:45. IO asked for my passports, DL and green card then swore me in. First thing he discussed was my name coz in my birth certificate, I only had one first name but throughout the years I have been using 2 first names due to my baptismal cert. He just told me that he's recommending a name change since he's gonna be using the birth certificate name. He will just officially put in a name change for me to the 2 first names I'm using. I told him that's ok since I don't wanna go through the process of having to change all of my ID's and cards. Then he asked for our original birth cert, divorce papers from previous marriage, marriage cert and other financial docs. He went through the form in detail. He took note of my new job too. After which, made me sign those papers. Then gave me the civics test.

Questions were:

1. What is one promise you make when you become a USC?

2. What movement tried to end racial discrimination?

3. What did Martin Luther King Jr. do?

4. Who is the governor of your state?

5. Where is the statue of Liberty?

6. Name 2 national US holidays?

7. Who was the first president?

For some reason, he put my answer for #2 wrong (civil rights movement). I just realized later on that he gave me 7 questions. He then made me read "Who lives in the White House?" and made me write "The President lives in the White House." He then stamped the paper in front of him and the front part of the application "Approved". Filled out the paper that says I passed the tests and Congratulations! Then told me to wait for the mail for the oath taking schedule.

My interview was a very detailed one like the green card interview but I didn't even notice that I was there for an hour already coz the IO is also from the Philippines and I saw in his office that we graduated from the same University! So we had a little chitchat here and there.

He walked me to the exit afterwards and wished me good luck in my career and continue to be proud of our school! :D

Overall my experience was a pleasant one though it was an hour long. Now hoping to get the oath taking mail soon!

Thanks everyone for all the tips! Starting my new job this thursday! So excited since I have gone through school, certification exams and 8 months of job hunting before I finally got this! I feel so blessed! :innocent:(L) Good luck to all of us in our future endeavors!!!

just an update, I already received my oath letter today and it's scheduled on Nov. 14 at 7:30am. It will be in a court I believe in Ontario,CA!

I would like to add another update . I will be applying for my US passport and passport id tomorrow . I wonder how long would the process take to receive the passport and passport ID? I just got hired at Cathay pacific airways as a flight attendant and my training will start January of 2015 .

I wish everyone else here all the best and just wait it will come . I had to wait 6 months with all the difficulties I had to deal with. It did end in a good ending .

Other question when should I go to social security office to update my new status ?

09/15/2014 - Inline for interview scheduling (was stuck in "Initial Review" for over 3 months!)

Dear furiousng,

My field office is Oklahoma City, OK, same as yours, but I belongs to Oct 2014 filer.

Two days ago, I checked processing time for N400 of Oklahoma City field office, it says 9.6 months (updated on Aug 31) !!! I thought that Oklahoma may be the slowest office of the country.

However, when I read your timeline, it is not that bad. 6 months waiting after Biometric is quite long, but your interview schedule is quite quick.

I filed my N400 end of Oct, the check was just cashed yesterday and still awaiting for NOA letter. A long long way to go for me..................

BTW, please share your experience after your interview. Be well prepared and good luck.
