Ok . ???? I'm now very excited I just got my mail and guess what I found my oath letter . Yaaaaaaayyyyy ?? I'm so happy . My oath date is oct 28 and that's very soon .

Can someone tell me what I need to wear and what to expect .

Also can someone update my timeframe here to oath ceremony date oct 28 2014

I'm a little worried my oath ceremony letter came today and I recieve the envelope very wrinkled I open it and my sister told me to iron the letter without the steam the wrinkle kinda went away. My issue is that some letter got a little mess up and th bar code as well it's light weight mess up but I don't know if they can scan it . Although I did make an copy for my self before I iron it . So what should I do at this point I don't want uscis have issues with me on the day of the ceremony . How can I obatain another copy of that . I have 3 weeks left till my oath day . I'm very piss at my self for doing that . Will the copy work if I hand over that ? Anyone with similar situation?

It sounds like you were having GC interview rather than a naturalization interview, smh. How does the kids question affect your naturalization????? If you chose not to have kids or wait why should that matter at this point? You are not trying to prove your marriage! Why is it important for you to remember your ex's birthday?????? Come on now, really? Are supporting documents other than taxes filed together needed when you are naturalizing based on marriage? I didn't naturalize based on that so I don't know. I'm so sorry and truly hope that you get a positive update soon.

This is exactly what I was thinking man, I was definitely having a green card interview, and the most ironic thing was that my green card interviews (yes they called me for the ROC too), were so easy. I wasn't even asked any serious questions. They prolly sense when they see a couple whos' real who's not.

Anywho, well I responded to the REF already, yesterday right after the interview. but I am sure my case now will definitely be delayed around 2 months. I was planning a trip this xmas/new year. Guess now I also have to think about this.

How long you guys think before i hear anything, given the fact that this is NYC and everything moves very slow around here?

Now I am even getting more angry, I took 3 years of joint filed IRS tax transcripts and she said, tax transcripts are not enough. Now I am looking at instructions it says and/or tax transcripts so it's clearly enough. #######.

man I printed all full pages of tax documents while I was prepping for the RFE response and I don't think I included the transcripts that time. oh fudge

My interview was October 3rd at Long Island Office. The Officer was a male, he was ok and just going by the papers he had. First he did the Civic questions...Who wrote the Declaration of Independence, who is the President, who is the Vice President, how old do citizens have to be to vote for the President , name the 2 political party and what is the political party of the President now, all answered correctly. Don't remember what I got to read and write however I passed both. On the N-400 form we went through line by line, and all was ok. He asked if I was paying taxes I said yes and as I was about to take out the copies of the last 5 years he said its ok. Now onto the problem I had...I was to get letters from my kid's mom stating I'm maintaining the kids and I didn't have that so now he gave me a RFE and a 'decision can not be made'.

I think it will be before that. You satisfied what was needed and that's what's important. There was another VJer who got an RFE at his interview and returned the same day with the documents. It wasn't very long after that he got an update. Don't worry. I'm believing that things will be in your favor and you will be able to travel in December. You may have to expedite your passport ?. Hmm, I didn't say anything about my IO. I think she was an Indian descent, but definitely born here, she had no accent. I can NOT say she was rude, she was not but she was a cold professional though, basically doing her job. No smiles or jokes etc. Definitely wasn't like the other IOs that I had before. I remember, she actually helped me on one of the civic questions. It could've been my luck having her.

I got my update on the 2 of October and recieve my letter on the 6 although my letter was a little destroyed. I made an appointment for an info pass to get a reprint on the 21 one week before my oath ceremony date . I hope everything goes well and I hope they give me another re print .

Anyways the journey is almost over .

Oh and I went to my lawyer office and he stated that it looks like the mail system got my letter jam . He said its approve just ask for a re print and that I should be ok. I hope he's right . My lawyer has been such a good help with my journey to become a U.S. citizen.

For those of you that went to the oath ceremony I would like to know if I can bring my family with me 5 adults and 3 kids is it possible for them to come with me on my oath day ?

Thank you. I hope I get my letter as fast as you did (4 days) and that included a Sunday?. My sister will be here on vacation and it would be awesome if my oath ceremony happens during that time. That's wishful thinking though. Hope your infopass turns out well.
