Hi guys....

Just had my interview this morning at the San Francisco office.

First of all, IO was so harsh and rude...she had questions that weren't asked in the application...it was so bad...i wanted to press a reset button and start all over again...but she was just straight up tough and raising her voice.

She asked for my marriage certificate from last december...i said it wasn't stated in the application. Only the divorce documents were needed from previous marriage. And then i added that if it was needed why didnt i get a letter in the mail that i need to bring it.

Another question was. WHERE DID YOU GET MARRIED LAST DECEMBER? so I answered manila,philippines. She repeated the question and raised her voice...i gave her the same answer. Then she said," what I meant is, was it in a church, club or park?. I said church. But in my head, are you freaking kidding me??!?!

I passed the test...she only asked me 6 questions.

I could only recall the number of senators, the sea by the east coast, what borders Canada , age for selective service and the first 10 amendments.then the read and write.

She checked 2 boxes on my N652

1. I passed the test of english and us history.

2. USCIS will send you a written decision about your application

Good Afternoon To all .. I went to a lawyers office this morning and look over all the COE & COD I got good news and bad news but my new lawyer had told me to give her a week to investigate everything. OK first thing she will look into if I m already a us citizen by birth since my mother was a us citizen when coming to the usa we came here as IR2 category.after she will dig more information about the past crime . She said chances are I'm already a citizen. If I'm a citizen we will withdraw the n400. If I'm not a citizen we will go to my second interview and she will accommodate me and show that I have good moral character. I have 5 character letters from people I've help including church that I attend. Other the. That I just have to wait 1 weeks to have all the questions that I been waiting for. I hope for the best . Also congratulations to all that became citizens

If you were under 18 years old at the time of your mother's citizenship and an IR2, then you are a US citizen.

Besides the checked box that we passed the test.

I think you had your box checked for a decision cannot yet be made about your application.

Mine was - USCIS will send you a written decision about your application.

I think its different....just hoping that everything will turn out fine for both our application.

Friscoflip we are both in the same boat. I wish you all the best. If your naturalization gets deny then you must obtain a lawyer to help you with your situation. If approve you have nothing to worry about. Why did the io raise his or her voice? What happen ?

My mother came to USA Jan of 1986 as an american citizen and I came to the USA Nov of 1986 although my mother pass away 1988 . My grandmother was born 1913 in hawaii and move to the philippines at age 6 that's how my mother became automatically citizen.

I wonder if I still fall under that category "acquisition" or "derivation of citizenship". I Have to wait for results on my lawyer next week .

crossing fingers that im already a us citizen.

Yes, 2 weeks after my interview I got that update

Applied for my passport yesterday at the post office- will share how that goes!

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Having a bit of a panic attack

Can't find my original form of entry only have a copy :-(

Did previous interviewers get asked for this?

I know I needed it for my first interview but now that I'm going to my citizenship interview I'm hoping they don't ask for it or hope that at least a copy is acceptable

I don't think so...the officer who interviewed didn't ask for that, but she did ask me about my marriage certificate last december, in which I told her that it wasn't included in the list of requirements while filling out the applicatiin form. Divorce papers from previous marriages only. She still insisted that I should have brought it, then I said, i didn't receive any instructions or requests in the mail that I should bring additional documents prior to my interview and would have brought it if they asked me to. And then when the interview was done, she asked me again if I have the certificate, I said no and I could have it faxed to her if she wants...but she just said It's fine. And she didn't give me the form N-14 for additional docs.

5yr rule... it doesnt make sense to look at my current marriage cert, because my current wife didnt petition me and vice versa.

Did you apply based on 3-year rule(married to US citizen) or 5-year?
