i have an interview this coming tuesday im so nervous about my past crime that happen 7 years ago i did get it expunge and set aside and dismiss under pen code 1203.4. thats in california. I've been good since then no other crimes or offense.

I do have a question on the applications.

On question number 15 on part 10 it states "have you ever committed a crime or offense for which you were not arrested?" i answered NO because i did not get arrested but i got charge a felony at the court house it was when i got involve in my friend mess which was for insurance fraud and i pleaded guilty to the crime which i should had not got involve with.

"The short story".

the judge did give me a lesser punishment of 5 years of unsupervised probation and no jail time. the reason why the judge granted me that because i told the judge that i did not commit the crime i just got involve since my old friend and the auto shop did sent a fraudulent claim with my name on it. yeah stupid of me i know i did not know my rights and i represented my self with no lawyer at the time so i kinda took the blaim and consequences.

should i have answer yes to that question? it is a tricky question i just want to be honest on my interview that's all.i have all court disposition and documents of expungement . should i be ok on the day of my interview? if i change my answer to question 15 on part 10 on the application to a YES. i really dont know if its a yes or a no what do think?

I also forgot to add a traffic volation back in 2012 for not completely stopping at a red light for a right turn i have all documents that i did pay all fines and traffic school. will i be ok for adding this on to my application . again i just want to be honest so i can get approve of naturalization

I did get some advise from an immigration lawyer 2 years ago that i can apply for naturaluzation if i get my past crime expunge. it is now expunge.

I"m very well prepared for the interview but i"m second guessing my self on that question .

ANY ADVICE ?

Personally, I would disclose both and bring documentation. That's what I would do.

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

PS. I told the officer about my traffic ticket and asked him if I should have done so, and he said yes. He only asked me if I paid the fine then moved on, it was no big deal :)

Today marks a week since my approved interview and still no in line for oath status :(

Got my Interview letter today for Aug. 06,2014 :) Just have one question though, does it all says on your letter: "Request for Applicant to Appear for Naturalization Initial interview?". Just confused with the word "Initial". There should only be one interview right? Sorry for my ignorance :)

Yes, you made a mistake by saying 'No' to that question. You should've selected 'Yes' because you committed a crime for which you were not arrested. You say you didn't get arrested but at the court house you were charged a felony. Now felony is a serious crime, a troubled thing for this good moral character rule for applying to citizenship. I don't get it though, judge shouldn't have decided something until you were properly counseled by a lawyer. Now remember I basing my opinion that you did commit a crime by the '5 years of unsupervised probation' that you got. If you weren't committed you would be scot-free without anything.

Also your citizenship application would've denied (my guess) if you were within that 5 year period but since probation is long over, all should be good. If you have all court dispositions, I would say don't worry about it. Just remember USCIS have all the info, expunged or not, they know everything.

For traffic violation, you don't have to tell them anything about it, it's a civil matter. Only you're citizenship won't be approved if there's an unpaid ticket etc. Since you paid for it, don't worry about it. My guess that traffic violation won't even come up

It depends on the state you live in.my status change on may 31 for in line for interview and recieve a letter one week later. It's faster here in California . Total wait of us citizenship is 4 months . I'm on my third month as of today. I have my interview tomorrow . Hopefully everything goes well and receive an approval
