I went to my naturalization interview today June 17,2014, My interview was slated for 12:00 noon, got there at 11:30, a lady guard then asked me to put my appointment letter on the tray #2 ,I then sat to the waiting area and patiently waited my turn, the room had about 5 applicants and some folks with their lawyers and family, i was called in 12:02 to be exact by this very Nice IO, very pleasant and accommodating, ask me to swear prior to sitting and requested my green card and DL and said are you ready?Was a little nervous after all the good and bad experiences i read and heard about, i responded yes and He said we are going to do the hard part first and started with the questions:

1.Who wrote the declaration of Independence?

2.Who is the Commanding in Chief of the military?

3.What is the political party of the President now?

4.What are the two major political Parties in the US?

5.There were 13 original states.Name three

6.Name one state that boarders mexico.

He then give me a line that reads; "Who elects the congress" and have me write "We the People elects the congress"..

He went thru my N-400 line by line and have me signed my N-400 and my passport photo and then give me a paper that said had a checked mark you passed the civis test and also checked congratulation you have been granted for approval, and handed me my Oath appointment letter,and shook my hand ,congratulated me and escorted me out pleasantly ..... to summarize my experience i will say this man was the nicest IO, all documents i prepared stayed right in my bag and amazingly, my experience was a piece of cake and not even a little bit of difficulty, he realize i was nervous when i entered his office and said" just relax "you`ll be fine..It took 15 minutes for the whole interview.

I like to thanks every one for sharing their experiences good or bad it was very helpful in the process, and to those of you on the journey i wish you luck everyone:)

My Oath Ceremony will be held in Boise USCIS office in August 12,2014 at 9:15 AM.

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

I went to my naturalization interview today June 17,2014, My interview was slated for 12:00 noon, got there at 11:30, a lady guard then asked me to put my appointment letter on the tray #2 ,I then sat to the waiting area and patiently waited my turn, the room had about 5 applicants and some folks with their lawyers and family, i was called in 12:02 to be exact by this very Nice IO, very pleasant and accommodating, ask me to swear prior to sitting and requested my green card and DL and said are you ready?Was a little nervous after all the good and bad experiences i read and heard about, i responded yes and He said we are going to do the hard part first and started with the questions:

1.Who wrote the declaration of Independence?

2.Who is the Commanding in Chief of the military?

3.What is the political party of the President now?

4.What are the two major political Parties in the US?

5.There were 13 original states.Name three

6.Name one state that boarders mexico.

He then give me a line that reads; "Who elects the congress" and have me write "We the People elects the congress"..

He went thru my N-400 line by line and have me signed my N-400 and my passport photo and then give me a paper that said had a checked mark you passed the civis test and also checked congratulation you have been granted for approval, and handed me my Oath appointment letter,and shook my hand ,congratulated me and escorted me out pleasantly ..... to summarize my experience i will say this man was the nicest IO, all documents i prepared stayed right in my bag and amazingly, my experience was a piece of cake and not even a little bit of difficulty, he realize i was nervous when i entered his office and said" just relax "you`ll be fine..It took 15 minutes for the whole interview.

I like to thanks every one for sharing their experiences good or bad it was very helpful in the process, and to those of you on the journey i wish you luck everyone:)

My Oath Ceremony will be held in Boise USCIS office in August 12,2014 at 9:15 AM.

Congrats Maritoni! Also sharing my interview experience from yesterday, we pretty much had the same procedure except the IO asked me the civic questions in the end. My interview time was 10:15am, signed in at 10:03 then after 2 minutes the IO called my name, he was really nice and didn't felt nervous at all. My interview questions were :

1. What group of people was taken to America and sold as slaves?

2. How many amendments does the constitution have?

3. What is the highest court in the US?

4. Who is the Vice-president of the US now?

5. Why did the colonist fight the British?

6. What territory did the US buy from France in 1803?

He then said congratulations, your application has been recommended for approval, there's one more officer that needs to sign and check to make sure we have everything we need from you. If we need anything else we will let u know , if not then you will be receiving a letter stating your schedule for your oathtaking ceremony! He then let me sign more papers and made copies of my id's, and that's it!! It was really easy and prolly took like 15 mins. Good luck to everyone!! Xoxo

Congratulations Elahalo. Did IO go through N-400 and ask questions about how you got GC?.

Also..i see some members getting Interview letter earlier though i applied at the same time. I believe it all depends on Local office schedule..correct?

Thank u! And yes Krishna12, he went through with my N400 application first and asked me when I got my green card. And yea I think it depends how busy your local office is. Hope u'll get ur interview schedule soon :)
