I am inline for interview as of May 1.

Looking up the time lines for Chicago from various sources, it seems the interview is 90 days after they received the application with another 2 - 4 weeks for the Oath ceremony. Also, it seems the interview letter takes 4 weeks.

My expected time line is 5/30 interview letter. 6/30 interview and 7/15 Oath ceremony.

I'll update as the case progresses.

This is so random but,that aggravates me about USCIS is that we, the applicants, pay $680.00 fee for the process of getting the citizenship, furthermore, We send our packets with priority mail and pay lots of money to make sure it gets there without getting lost and QUICK(Overnight delivery). However, When USCIS sends out NOA's or important letters to respond to applicants regarding interviews or appointments....etc. They send it through snail mail which applicants get it in FOREVER! what I am saying is that we pay alot of money for this application and we should expect a decent/Premium service! At least, send our important notices and appointment letters via FedEx or Ups so we can get it the next day because we wait impatiently to hear something about our cases. Geeez

I think they are getting better. Now they provide tracking info for green cards and they didn't before

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Congrats! I am thinking I have the same timeline as you.. I was in-line 4/25 and I am thinking I will be scheduled for an interview sometime late June or early July, and Philadelphia seems to be giving oath ceremonies 1-2 weeks after interview approval. I'm hoping this will all be done by August or sooner :) *Fingers crossed*

I am not really in a rush though but it would be nice to get it all over with

The $680 is merely to cover the actual cost for the process, instead of hitting up the tax payer. They can make it $150 more expensive to accommodate expedited notices, but I would assume only a small minority would be willing to spend the extra money. Also, the fees could be much higher, if they would want to make it a naturalization tax to fund other federal programs.

Sending the package overnight was a personal choice you made and not a requirement. I assume you did it for piece of mind to ensure delivery? I paid $1.80 for First Class mail that got there in 2 business days.

Considering that after the in line notice it takes 2 month, or more for some areas, for the interview, the entire process will require some form of patience from the applicants.

Congrats to you too.

Yes, I would assume most of us should be done some time in August. It seems most offices are within the 5 months period. Looking at previous months, there are some candidates where it could take a much longer time. Hoping for all April filers, that we sail through smoothly.

I think somebody asked before about a July 4th Oath ceremony. I was curious about this as well, as it could be a very optimistic date for me, and searched the internet. It seems only few offices have a ceremony on July 4th, most have it the days leading up to it. I think Chicago has a July 3rd event. After looking at previous months though, I am less optimistic that anyone beside maybe St Paul filers are done by then.

Yes, it seems to take longer here in VA, compared to a lot of other who sent out their stuff later. Well...at least the weather will be great for a trip to the beach. :-)

Lucky you!!!:) it takes 45 minutes drive for me,i thought of going down to idaho falls for walk in but i cant take any more days off as i already took 2 days off last week and few more days in the future so i will just wait... :dancing:

this early bio appointments really doesn't get anything rolling faster, i did them both on my aos and i751 and still waited long enough for the approval, actually my aos was quite fast 4 months i751 took longer, will not do a walk-in this time let's see how long this's gonna take

I just did it to make it easier for me, my appointment was in the afternoon of the 12th which meant i would have to take off a whole afternoon from work. Wasen't to speed things up!

I just did it to make it easier for me, my appointment was in the afternoon of the 12th which meant i would have to take off a whole afternoon from work. Wasen't to speed things up!

Same here, my bio was supposed to be today but last week the water pump at the school district I work for burst and we had no school the next day so I did my bio instead. Otherwise I would need to take a day off today. I know it won't speed anything up

When you receive NOA, it will have your personal information, such as name, address, and birth date. And it says that if any information is incorrect, contact them at one of the 800 numbers.

Yes received the NOA today, at last after 16 days of mailing.

JSully you are right the personal details are there and the DOB is wrong so will have to call the 800 number on Monday to correct it. Thanks JSully.

Funny the NOA was mailed from National Benefits Center and with NBC* number and not from Dallas TX.

Did you all also get it from National Benefits Center MO?
