Any reason why you are using the old form? I heard new forms might be better because of the barcode?

I haven't filled mine out yet so I haven't decided, but I will probably just go with the updated forms :)

I don't think there are really any good reasons to use the old form, even if you do already have it filled out. Filling out the new form online and then printing it off handily captures all your entries in the 2D barcode which ought to speed up the initial processes of data entry. Thus, I would expect that getting your cheque cashed, Priority Date confirmed, NOA mailed off and fingerprint notices issued would all be quite quicker than the current processing times.

It remains to be seen whether this new form will speed up the overall processing time (submission to oath ceremony), but the accelerated data entry from the 2D bar code ought to give one a leg up in the initial stages.

Good luck!

Another question for y'all.

My 3 year green card date was 3/17 and my 3 year anniversary is 4/2.. So on April 2 I can send my packet in right? Because I would have met both conditions then. Should I play it safe and wait a couple days after 4/2 to send it or it won't matter?

Also, when making copies, did you do b&w or colored... does it matter? My husband's birth certificate looks faded, so I'm a little worried about it

Your question is not very clear. When you say your greencard date, are you referring to your "Resident Since" date? If so, shouldn't that be exactly the same as your anniversary date (which I assume is the third year anniversary of acquiring your Legal Permanent Resident status?

Sorry, what I mean to say is that my resident since date is 6/17/11 (so I am eligible 3/17/14 if counting 90 days ahead of time) and my 3 year wedding anniversary is 4/2/11. So by 4/2/14 I would have met both conditions right, and I would be good to file then, or should I wait a couple days after 4/2/14? Am I making sense now?

As far as I know, your wedding anniversary has no bearing on when you can file. What matters is the date on your green card. Good luck!

Well I am filing based on 3 years of marriage, so wouldn't I have to wait until I have been married for 3 years as well? Because if not, then I can send it in today..

1) You would want to count 90 days BACK from the third year anniversary of your "Resident Since" date...not ahead

2) If you became a resident on June 17, 2011, then your eligibility window would open on March 19, 2014, not March 17

3) Yes, by waiting till after April 2nd, 2014, you would have met the all timeframe eligibility requirements as outlined by the USCIS

Hello VJ members. If I am wrong please let me know. I think when it is time for my wife's interview, that is when they will asked for a couple of bank statements, electric bills. As for now when sending in my wife's n-400 application, I only need to send in the following: My divorced papers from my last marriage, my birth papers, 3 years of tax transcripts, my wife's greencard [back and front]. Lot rent receipts. If I forgot something, please let me know. Thank you for any replys.
