Hi does the embassy look at petition before the interview?

I honestly think they do, and I believe they are watching you on the cameras to see how you act with your spouse. My interview took 8 hours and we flooded them with documents and pictures. After the 8 hours they just asked 3 questions and that was it.

Yes I do believe they review your application when it comes in from the NVC and check it for potential fraud indicators.

My wife and I were the first ones in last ones out. Literally..

They took 8 hours to review the paperwork. We gave them around 1,000 pictures, joint bank accounts, any other documents proving we were together. I lived in her country for about a year so it was easy to give the consulate proof.

They asked my wife 3 questions... Have you ever been to mexico , or united states before... How come she doesn't have French citizenship.. How did she learn English so well.

I understand how it could throw flags when she tells them the truth.. She learned by watching TV because of the sub titles, and just because she was born in France doesn't make her a French citizen when both of her parents are foreigners. Also the obvious would be she's never been out of the country and that's backed by her blank passport.

Yes, they look at your petition, letters, and everything to formulate their questions based on information your supplied.

I doubt if ever anyone's interview was 8 hrs. You may be there 8 hours sitting. But you will be lucky to get 15 to 30 minutes with a CO.

And of course they read your petition this is how they prepare and already determine most times an approval or denial. If you look closely at the stake next to CO when you go up to any window at any embassy you may see what color paper (approval, denial , 221G) people get.

some do. Trust me the decision is made. They pretty much know one way or the other what they going to do.

Of course they look at the petition. A lot of times they form questions to ask based on the information found in the documents you sent with the I-129F. That is why it is advised to provide a complete copy of everything that was sent with the I-129F to the beneficiary, so they know everything that was included and can answer any questions without hesitation.

Yes, I do believe they already made decision based on all documents you provided for the interview and information on DS-160 form. I knew they looked at my petition because I saw the guy, who interviewed me, flipping around my documents that my fiance sent to USCIS for I-129F.

They also discussed my case in front of me - which was surprised me- because I did not think they would do that. But I am just guessing they might be think I could not hear them because we were separated by glass window and every time they talked, the older guy turned the microphone off. Luckily I still could hear them anyway, . Also, I saw white slip on his left hand before he interviewed me that indicate an approval.
