If it's an Ohio city, it will be the Queen city - Cincinnati. It is the most conservative of the three.

Although I don't know why the GOP would choose cincy, there are no adult book stores or tiddy joints unlike Tampa. Then again they could just do what most people do and drive over to Newport, KY.

Columbus has a large gay population and Cleveland is just dirty and run down.

One of the local stations did a news story on this last night and they reported that the problem with Tampa was that once people were screened inside the safe zone they had few choices for food and entertainment. It took so long to get through the lines people wouldn't leave. The news anchor said that wouldn't be a problem in Columbus bc the convention center is in walking distance to the short North. Which has a lot of galleries, bars, and places to eat. The funny thing is, it's also gay central so I can imagine the culture? (if that's the right word) clash. Columbus is a fairly progressive city, partially bc of Ohio State so you have a large younger population.

Cincy on the other hand is ULTRA conservative and also very segregated. Lot of old money in cincy. When I moved from cincy to columbus about 10 yrs ago I was shocked you could order pay per view pr0n on TV lol. The real stuff not the fake stuff they had in cincy. Not to mention strip clubs and topless bars - not that I go to such places... >

I don't think Cleveland would be a good choice bc that is a blue collar city. I just don't see Republican convention fitting in there at all. Although they do have a lot in common with the Browns being that both are losers

Security-wise, and for ease of access/cheap hotel space/no distractions - Phoenix would be the best. Political-wise it will probably be one of the cities in Ohio.
