Obama embracing lame-duck status, preparing for post-Presidential career helping young black men

  1. 1. Obama is "plotting a return to the issues that have been central to his own life and will continue to shape generations of young black men after he leaves the White House".

    • His focus on "young black men" proves that he is a racist who hates white people. He is a divider, not a uniter.
    • His focus on "young black men" is just him doing what he knows best. It's not racist, it's him applying himself to a cause where he can have the most impact.

That sounds unlikely, gang banger killings are a dime a dozen and would normally maybe make the local rag.

If it had been Hispanic/Hispanic or Black/Black we would not be having this conversation.

And that's the sad part, if GZ was anything else, he would have been locked up immediately.

The whole thing struck me as distinctly racist, I was surprised the usual suspects in the Hispanic community were not up in arms.

Pun intended.

oh, to be certain, they dodged a bullet (my pun intended also)

when

the media declared Georgie to be white, early on.

The PACs attached to La Raza were upset, though, since there wasn't any billable time for them on a non-existent project.

According to you there is no such thing. Michael Dunn is more of a thug than the kid he executed, yet you won't use that word to describe him.

I don't think anyone who brought the word thug into the mainstream and made it the stereotype it is today, would call Dunn a thug. BTW those people who popularized the word to mean a certain kind of lawless black urbarnite, were black.

I'm not one of those people. I call it like I see it. Black people don't own the word thug, it can apply to anyone who acts the part. And that's exactly what Dunn did. He became the very thing he couldn't stand. He's what people on this website should be afraid of, a gun owner that snapped and killed someone in a fit of rage. But, no matter how many times a person kills someone, I know Dunn and those like him(there's quite a few out there) will never generate fear.

Agreed. I'd call a white person that verbally threatens his neighbors that he'd commit armed robbery on them and their homes a thug. In fact, I did.

It's funny how these things become set in our minds. It would be crazy to call him a thug because he's not what we perceive a thug to look like. But your actions speak louder than anything else. Using a gun to take something that isn't yours is thuggish behavior. I'd reckon there's quite a few here, although they won't admit it.

I have no problem with you calling him a thug. I am just telling you how the word became popular to describe the young ethnic butt showing deadlocked crowd. It was not white people that labeled these kids thugs, it was black people. To imply that it is racist to call a kid a thug, when that is how many of them self identify is absurd.

Quick.. The term redneck.. Do you generally picture a 40 year old black man driving around in a Chrysler 300. Of course not

The things you racially obsessed people fixate on is absurd.

thug

As Tupac defined it, a thug is someone who is going through struggles, has gone through struggles, and continues to live day by day with nothing for them. That person is a thug. and the life they are living is the thug life. A thug is NOT a gangster. Look up gangster and gangsta. Not even CLOSE, my friend.

And yet, you've become obsessed with race all the same. You bring it up more than me. Who called Jordan Davis and his friends thugs? Mr. Davis, that's who. These kids had no records, nor had they been in trouble. They were listening to rap music, guess the thug litmus test has a mean grading curve.

You know you can't talk about Obama without talking about black people. It's impossible.

I did not say the kids were thugs. I am just talking about why the word gets applied like it does.

I'm aware. It's why Richard Sherman was called a thug, yet Rep. Grimm wasn't.

One of them recently did.

I know, I saw what you did there.yes.gif
