RFE letter of intent to marry

I received an RFE for not submitting the intent to marry from the beneficiary. On the top of the letter it states...

*All foreign language documents must be submitted with complete word-for-word English translations. The translator must certify that the translation is complete and accurate, and that he or she is competent to translate. Do not submit the English translation without the foreign language document.

my question is does he need to do a letter of intent in his native language or can he just do it in English. Last thing we want is for them to send another RFE that it needs to be in his native language.

I'm certain he can write the intent to marry in English. Maybe have him handwrite it and sign it so it's clear that he wrote it - just trying to anticipate any possible issues... if they thought he just signed something someone else wrote and he didn't understand.

Letter of intent to marry needs to have an original signature by hand, not a scanned copy. You were lucky you got through without the adjudicator noticing your letter was a printed copy.

In this case, since an RFE was received, the letter that is sent in will likely be subject to a bit more scrutiny, so an original should be sent in and not a print-out.

English. Use the Example Forms,,,,they work.

It cannot be scanned and copied. The letter needs to have an original signature.

Let the beneficiary write the letter in English. This phrase about all non English document are standard. It is written on all RFE letter. They just want to remind you that if you send them any non English documents, DO NOT FORGET to send the English translation for them. If you do not have any non English documents, just disregard that phrase and move on. As long as everything in English, everything will be find.

Doing it in English is fine. It just mentions that "if" he does it in his native language, you need to provide both, the translation and the original document. Just have him write it in english to save the trouble of translating as well.

I had mine signed and notarized as well. You can check out the link below for the list of notary public available. I've also listed the guy I approached for my notary requirements. They do translations too if you need them later.

As other replies here state, you need to send in the original document. Printed version of a scanned copy might invite another RFE. Better to be on the safe side and have him send it by FedEx or something similar.

last time i receive also that kind of letter coz i forget to sent to my fiancée and i didn't know they needed. i did is i wrote in my native language and i translate in english by words., Its better she or he do like that for sure and even she/ he computerise type or hand righting the important things is her/him signature. First i sent to my fiancée by email and scan (for checking if right what i did), but still i send the original copies with my signature though post mailing and he submitted to the USCIS. this is my experience about RFE.

You don't sent the original documents unless they asked for it. If you send original documents you may not get it back.
