Hi.
So I applied for a tourist visa last year, I had my interview on the 31st of October. I was told that I was approved and will receive my passport and visa within a week. It's been four months. I have no particular set timing, so I shouldn't be worried, but what's getting to me is that I added some of the people who were approved on Facebook, and we've been in contact, they've all got their passports back. And people who applied after me, interviewed last month, got their passport back within two or three weeks. Every time I check it, it says administrative processing. Do note that I'm sixteen, I have no prior records whatsoever, still in school, and financially stable, and I have plenty of close relatives in the States. Doesn't that make me eligible on every basis? Should I email them in case there's an error in the processing or in case I have the wrong case number?

Security checks.

So should I message them or not? I don't think it takes four months to check up a sixteen year old with not even an in school suspension or a parking ticket and no political orientation :|

You can send a message if you want.

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do to speed up AP.

Please understand that as a person from a country with terrorists who wish to harm America, you will be put under extra scrutiny.

If your name is similar to a suspected terrorist, it may cause major problems.

AP is about security checks to protect America.

As a foreign national, you do not have a right to a visitor visa.

This is not about messing with you. It is rather be safe then risk it for the safety of America.

Hope you can understand the why of this.

No harm, makes you wonder how many visa's are approved from Iraq.

Pakistan can take years, you would have thought a similar situation.

How can a 16 year old be financially stable? I'm guessing it's your parents who are supporting you. AP can and does last years in some cases, check out the Pakistan portal. There is no timeline for AP, nothing you or anyone else says or does can or will expedite the process. It has to run it's course.
