I am still waiting 9 months tomorrow, it's the worst feeling. My financial status keeps going down and it's getting harder to go visit. I'm on a frustrating mode!?

Friends,

My NOA 1 for I130 is July 9, 2014 at Nebraska Service Center. It's been over 5 months now, but I still haven't received any update on the case. When I call the USCIS number, I get generic responses from both Tier 1 and Tier 2 reps. Any suggestions on what I can do to learn more about where the case is stuck or why it is not getting processed?

Thanks

NSC is known for long process. They will take exactly five months if not less. I see that yours just completed the 5 month period. I suggest wait for few more days (about 1-2 week) and then do e-service or call. We can't do anything at this point, unfortunately :(

Thanks, Tenzy.

Can I bring my wife on a tourist visa to the US while her I130 and I129F peteitions are in process? What are the risks involved in doing this? Are the chances of tourist visa getting rejected high in this case? And, if they reject her tourist visa, how would it affect her I130 and I129F petitions?

Thanks.

I wouldn't really bother with the tourist visa. Her chance of approval after an I-130 filing is slim to none. They have concerns about over staying a visa. You can try, but it'll cost money, and not a small amount of aggravation
