Congrats on approval after 164 Days! It's been a long wait.

Case active 157 days.

Case type : I-130, Petition for Alien Relative
Priority date: June, 17 2016
Preference classification: 201 B INA SPOUSE OF USC

Transferred-Nebraska to Potomac

Anyone here a naturalized citizen? I was a green card holder and then became a US citizen before. Have been a US citizen for years! Does this have anything to do with your case?

I also noticed my Permanent resident alien number is on transfer notice under Petitioner? Anyone have this? can you explain why they put this on the form?

What is the question that you have. From reading what you wrote it seems like he was approved. By them saying it wasn't send to NVC. Just means that it hasn't being done yet as of the time when the letter was went out. You my want to call NVC now to see if they got it. Are call USCIS to see if they have sent it off yet. An congrats on the approval and gud luck with the rest of your journey.

Thanks for the input. I was not mentioning here the complete thing as someone might say start your own thread.

Anyways, since you asked....I will tell you here. Kindly guide me how we should proceed further. Suggestions welcome.

Our case was approved on Nov. 10th. This happiness lasted only until today when my petitioner received the letter saying that ,

"your petition has been approved. Petition indicates that the person you are petitioning is in the united states and will apply for adjustment of status.He/she should contact local USCIS office to obtain form I-485, application for permanent residence. A copy of this notice should be submitted with the application.

If the person whom you are petitioning decides to apply for a visa outside the united states based on this petition, the petitioner should file form I-824, application for action on approved application or petition, to request that we send the petition to the Department of State, National Visa centre (NVC)."

USCIS is got mixed signals from us coz I (beneficiary) was in US when we filed the petition and mentioned the entry date of I-94 as the blank space asks for. My visa was expiring on july 2016, Immigration officer did give me stay until Dec. 2016 but I exited US in Aug 2016. I wanted to do Adjustment of status but did not do it (didnt send any forms) as I had only 30 days vacation days left after filing I-130. We did request for extension of vacation for me at work place and it was not granted. The adjustment of status, Employment ID, Parole etc takes at least 90 days. So I Exited US to join work. My I-94 mentions my exit date. I wonder why they did not see that.

Now, this I-824 form suggested by USCIS needs additional 405 $ to take action on approved petition. What a hassle. I have to fill all the forms altogether again to get my petition transferred from USCIS to NVC. C'mon......Actually honesty is a bad policy. That's the lesson. ...and I welcome you all seniors/experts to guide me further please.
