Finally got an approval!!! :dancing: After 7 months, PD 04/07/2016. I Almost couldn't believe my eyes when I logged into the MyUSCIS website this evening and found that we were approved. :goofy: When will I know when our case is transferred to NVC?

Thank you :) Will I receive some sort of notification from NVC or should I try calling them after 7 days?

No you should get a notification on your USCIS website and app. If you don't then call USCIS next Tuesday and ask about it.

Thank you. It says on the MyUSCIS website that it my petition was approved on 11/05 but the notification was not delivered..?? Since I'm abroad they are not wanting to mail it to my Egyptian address.. so I went ahead and changed it to my US address although I'm not there. How much important is this notification they speak of.. is this the NOA2? How soon does the status change to 'Sent to the Department of State.."? I'm assuming the don't send them quickly? :P

It's only something like the NOA1. We really did not need it in any of the process we did. Some of the people here which were approved before us, their cases were forwarded right away that they got their case number in 2 weeks time. Ours was like,

08/09/2016 - We approved your Form I-130, Immigrant Petition for Relative, Fiance(E), or Orphan.

09/08/2016 - On September 8, 2016, we sent your case, Receipt Number LIN**********, to the Department of State for visa processing.

NVC confirmed receipt of our case 5 days later, so I'd say start calling them the 5th day after you receive an update that your case has been forwarded. Good luck :)

I always call around the time they start their work, that case I don't have to wait for a long queue to be attended to. They open at 7AM EST so that's around 2PM Kuwait time which is great coz I usually don't have anything around that time. One time I asked my husband to call around noon time, he waited for half an hour to be able to get ahold of an agent.
