Do you watch the visa bulletin board? http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/law-and-policy/bulletin.html

Whenever your priority date (on your I-797 receipt notice) becomes current, that is when a visa will be available to you.

Hi

That's true!! I just didn't have anything to prove we are married other than the certificate and that receipt with my married name on. And the fact we have affidavits from people who were at our house when our other friend married us!

The stuff you worry about during this process is ridiculous!

I'm on my phone right now so I can't see your timeline etc.

Are you waiting for your approval now?

Hello!

I petitioned for my husband on 3/20/14 ( I-130) and I just got approved last week 3/25/14. I don't understand a lot of the immigration processes and especially when it comes to the Visa cut off dates. Can anyone tell me if the cut of date for a visa is the NOA1 date or the date from when your I-130 gets approved? And also can anyone tell me what the average time is from when you receive your NOA2 to the consular interview date? I know there are time lines in the website you can see and it seems to me from what I understand that it is about 3 months. Is this correct? Does anyone whos spouse is from Guatemala have any information regarding this? Thank you guys in advance any info helps! :o)

What do you mean? You probably received NOA1 saying they got your case. Its taking abt 5 months to get your case approved which they will send you a NOA2. Then u start the visa process.

I'm sorry I don't know if what I said might have been confusing. :-) my case was sent to the NVC already and I am waiting for a visa #. So I want to know what the average time is from when ur case gets sent to NVC until u you get a consular interview. And I've also read that there is a cut off date for a visa but I don't know if to qualify for a visa the cut off date is from the NOA1 or the NOA2.

I guess what Livelyio meant was, that your case got a speedy approval, if you sent the I130 on the 3/20/14 and already got approved on 3/25/14. That´s only 5 days, which to us seems to be super super fast :wow: . But if so, congratulations!!! :dancing:
