Help Please.

According to the uscis app, almost all of the forms sent in around the time of mine had their status updated. My filing date is May 10th. In August I requested an address change. 2 weeks later on September 12th, I got a notification saying

"Notice Was Returned To USCIS Because The Post Office Could Not Deliver It"

So I requested to change the address again. This time it worked. I got a notification in the mail today and it was a notice for an AR-11 form. I am confused as to what to do because my status remains the same. Yet USCIS sent me a form for AR-11. Do I have to fill this out even though I am an American citizen living abroad? Plus do I need to fill this it even though the current address is correct? I'm confused please help.

Our NOA date is June 1, 2016
I called to inquire about our case and was asked if I had called in before and replied no. Was asked a second time and again replied no. She then told me they were working on March and cases are taking 6 months to process.......... :( that was at least 3 weeks ago.

My app says they are working in May and June.

I posted this on the April filers, but I think it would be more beneficial here since it's related to NSC.

So I found out about 3 weeks ago I had an RFE that was made on August 25th. My PD is April 7. I was told that the RFE was mailed out on August 25th, but I may not receive it since they normally don't send mail outside the US. But when I told her that I received the original NOA1 at my Egyptian residence, she then said that I should receive the RFE, and if I don't receive it by September 30th, then to call, and I can either have them mail the RFE to my US address (which I can't use at the moment as I'm not living there) or have it faxed to me.

I decided to wait it out and figured I'd receive it by Sept 25th as it usually take about a month to receive mail here from the US. Well I never did receive it; and I even contacted our mailman to see if he's received anything and for him to keep a lookout for any mail coming my way.

I called today and the tier 2 officer last named: 'Montiel' called me back, she told me that the 'system' only showed that the RFE was 'ordered' and not 'sent' and that she sent an inquiry (service request) to whoever is processing my case. I told her that I spoke with Alaverez 3 weeks ago, who said that I could request to have the RFE faxed. Montiel said she did not know about that and that she can only send a service request in regards to the RFE and if I do not hear anything by 20 days to call back  . She said I should receive an email that will notify me what I can do or what will happen next and then she hung up on me after reviewing what she told me and said - click. I suppose they are time limited.

:bonk: I'm just kind of at a loss for words.

Does anyone know how long it usually takes for them to respond to a service request?? If I don't receive any email by next week (giving them a full week to respond), should I call instead of waiting 20 days??

This is all just taking so much longer than I ever anticipated.. naively I thought we would be one of the lucky ones and our petition would be processed smoothly.. How wrong I've been.

I am happy to announce that after 7 long months my I130 has been APPROVED ....

Conrgatulations :dancing: I'm so happy for you!!!

Call them and see if they've recieved your case. If you haven't already, then go ahead get all your documents prepared, translations and so on. I wish you a speedy process with the NVC.

No, I found out about the RFE by calling the NSC service center and speaking to Tier 2 officer, after my case reached 5 months. I only received an email when NSC received my petition initially, but I never received an email when I got an RFE; which in all honesty I was shocked that I didn't get any notification on it. I did receive a hard copy of my NOA1 a little over a month after they notified me by email that they received my petition.

If I were you I'd call and ask to speak to Tier 2 officer as the customer service rep that you will speak to initially will only give you information that you can view yourself online, they cannot give case specific information.
