Out of curiosity, does anyone know why people from the Philippines get their I-130 petition expedited? Judging from posts and timelines, their petitions are usually approved between two weeks to two months. Just curious!

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

It is because they had a very bad typhoon in the Philippines years ago.

Because of this

Why that means their parents can join them quicker than I can move to be with my husband is anyone's guess. And why this measure should still be in place is also a mystery.

Thanks for the information. I agree 100%. I had seen a few posts which mentioned this "favored" treatment, so I did a simple analysis of Nebraska APPROVED time lines. I see several Philippines I30s with NOA1 dates in April.

...and a total of 2 approved I130s with NOA1s in May 2016......both from Phillippines.

Oh well......the waiting continues.....

It's the IR-5s that get me... IR-5 is for the parent of a grown adult. Why do grown adults need their parents with them more than I need to be with my husband? It's shocking that overseas wives and children wait longer than some parents. I was hospitalised last year for neurological treatment where brain surgery was being considered. But no expedite for me.

It really gets me too....I don't see why they receive a favoured treatment. Why not for Nepal where they had a terrible earthquake? Nepal is just an example and I could give many more but I think that the expedite system granted to Filipinos might also be political...

Totally political. Trying to assuage their guilt for the occupation.

Hey there! I know it seems really unfair because we all just want to be with our husband/wives :( and some countries just get expedited. The process is too long and frustrating. Hope you hear from Nebraska soon <3 I don't know why they slowed down.

Do you know if the adjusticator can deny your i130 for being in a same-sex relationship? I mean based on his/her personnal belief.
