Apparently they are really struggling with January as they are nowhere near finishing January. Hundreds of January filers are still waiting. They must have received millions of i130 petitions that month.

First meeting: 04/14/12

Wedding: 11/23/15

i130 petition sent to Phoenix Lockbox: 01/20/16

NOA1: 01/26/16 (Notice Date written on I-797c)

NOA2: ???

Come on Nebraska speed it up... some April cases at Texas SC have been approved alreasy.... please hurry

Agreed! It's a little disheartening to see people who filed the same time we did already getting past the first step...and yet people who filed in January and February are still waiting in Nebraska. Hopefully things will turn soon.

Hopefully, I haven't waiting as much as other people but this is just to much! Hopefully soon we will be approved

The visa journey is definitely not an easy one. Even when I try not to think about it, I find myself thinking about it. But I know it will all be worth it in the end. This is my second time going through the process, because our K1 was denied. The first phase is definitely the worst because there are no updates. I know we will all get through this. We just have to be patient. (Easier said than done, I know.)

I just called today. NOA-1 date of December 24 and I was told that they are working on December 2 petitions now and to call back in a month. What might be going on? (I-130)

The December 2 date is just the official party line to get you off the phone. That means that someone somewhere in the Nebraska office is working on a case that was filed December 2. But we know from the folks here that filed later than that and have already been approved that they are not processed in receipt date order. December 2 is the date of the oldest file currently being processed. It could be a file that has had multiple problems or red flags. It's the most extreme case.

I'm sorry it's taking so long for you. It makes my situation seem not so bad after all. Have you contacted your senator?

Is calling one's senator the way to solve it? I did not mention that when I called last month, I was told the same thing.. December 2 petitions being processed and that I should call after the 17th because they only update the current processing dates once a month.

Not the only way, but you should contact your senators and/or your congressperson. Go to their website, and you'll find a immigration-specific contact form that you'll probably have to sign and fax or send a scanned copy through email.

In the meantime, I've read on these forums that you should call USCIS and request to speak with a Tier 2 officer - they have access to more specific information.

I called back, asked for Tier 2 and was told they were too busy to talk to me, but I was given a service request number and told in 3-5 days they would get back to me.
