You can familiarize yourself with the process here https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/approved/contact.html but yes, as Yoel said, try to get as much documentation together (Financial Support and other supporting documentation) to have ready to go when you get your Case # and IIN

Nothing. Only "Case received on January 25". I will reach the 5 month mark in 10 days.

Keeping everything crossed for you. I have been following my "box" and the one before mine like a hawk and checking how many they are approving each day.

I saw a January 11 person from this forum was approved yesterday. I don't know if that filled me with hope or fear.

You're definitely going to get approved in these couple of days!

December 2009 - First met.

February 2010 - Start of our relationship <3
January 7 2016 -Our Wedding in a romantic town of Aeroskobing <3

April 1 2016 - Sent CR1 package to RapidVisa.

April 18 2016 - CR1 Package delivered to USCIS Phoenix lock box.

April 22 2016 - Acceptance notification received by email. Case sent to Nebraska Service Center.

May 03 2016 - NOA1 hard copy received.

May 24 2016 - Return to the US to reestablish domicile.

August 3 2016 - Case transferred to Texas Service Center.

August 29 2016 - I-130 approved! (NOA2) <3 <3 <3

September 30 2016 - NVC Recieved.
November 14 2016 - Sent AOS and IV packages to Rapidvisa! :D
November 29 2016 - SCAN DATE!
February 15 2017 - Case Complete at NVC (11 weeks)
March 28 2017 - My Interview Day! :D (APPROVED!!!)

How do you know what receipt number to check a 'box' of numbers? I typed mine in the app and the results are my PD downward..how would one check previous ones? I tried typing in slightly random numbers but wasn't working that well :) getting bored and antsy

I take the number LIN1690419500 (for example) and set the search to 500. Then I sort by type (I-130) and then sort by date to see what they have done each day for that batch.

Oh great, thank you so much! I was trying to sort ones ahead of me, not after! And that's with the case tracker app correct?

This is exactly what I used to do too with this app. It always scares me to see that we are almost the only i130 case left in a batch of 500. This is why I stopped doing it now lol

I talked to a guy on this forum. He is an early January filer but he hasn't heard anything yet. His PD is 01/04 I think.

Do they sometimes lose files? Maybe we should send a new i130 and hoping that it gets send to another Servive Center. It might be faster...ugh

Ours was touched on April 7 so I know they had it then. But I read that they scan them as soon as they arrive and work from an electronic version. One of the service centres had a burst water pipe a few years ago that damaged a whole bunch of files and they had to start again so I think that's why they ask for photocopies only and they work from electronic files.
