Hi yall! Just a quick question, since we were notified by mail of NOA2, my husband has been asking me on next course of action to take. Does anyone know what's next? As the notice mentioned, NVC will take over, will this mean we wait for an update from NVC of steps to expedite? He's trying to get me in ASAP, so he can get me on his dependent, and be covered under the navy benefits.

Am I overthinking this?

I've just looked at the numbers on the app close to ours. We all filed on the same date. Most of them still say "case was received" but some were RFE'd yesterday and today. None has been approved yet.

Could it be that hey do it like this...

Go through all the files in that batch. Put the ones that are going to be approved to one side ready to go to NVC. Pick out the ones where bits are missing and send RFEs. Once the RFES are in the mail they "bulk approve" the ones put to one side by updating the computer and parcel them up for the courier to take to New Hampshire to the NVC? Maybe a supervisor has to rubber stamp the approval before the system can be updated and the NOA2 go out? It just seems too much of a coincidence that for our batch the only ones that appear to have been touched have been sent RFEs. What are the chances? I'm thinking they must have checked all of them and already decided which ones to approve. Otherwise if they are touching random files here and there, statistically there would be some that were approved and a smaller number would have been RFEd. If they touch random files there would be a variety of outcomes. I just find it incredible that the ones they have touched have all had RFEs.

Lol you are must definitely over thinking it. No one will ever know the approval process that the USCIS service centers use. RFE's just mean they had some things missing in thier paperwork. Just be grateful everyday that you don't get one in the mail. For the ones who don't get one I doubt if they well get approved at one time. The petitions come from all over world and they have to do the background checks on the petitioner and joint petitioner first before they are approved. So the approval timing varies from person to person.

Just wondering....is there any evidence of Nebraska doing the rumoured mini-expedite for cases where the couple are both living abroad? Selfish question in my case, but my friend who did this a few months ago went through CSC, and his USCIS went rather quickly (3 months or so).
