I absolutely know the feeling, it can be just crushing to have to go through it all. I'm still not done with mine yet either, but I've always found that it helps a bit to surround yourself with positivity and keep moving forward! =) Just remember that it'll all be a distant memory soon =D

I know that USCIS doesn't work in sequential order but I wonder if they separate the petitions depending on the country. For example: United Kingdom filers in one, Mexico in other stack, etc?

I looked at the case number of the Brazilian poster with the PD of November 30. There are still so many unapproved cases with a priority date of November 30. Like you said they might have lost a box or that box could also be sitting on someone's desk and that person might not be working at the moment. It could be someone who is gone off sick for a long period of time or someone who took a few months off to travel the world...

You can understand one or two petitions taking a long time to approve - extended FBI checks or something that could fall under the AWA being found in the petitioner's background but not a whole batch like the November files.

Someone who worked at Nebraska used to post on this forum and did a QandA about how the office works and he mentioned that once an employee has picked up a box it is scanned and logged in the system that this person is working this box and no one can touch the box unless it is scanned out of the first person's system and re-scanned into someone else's. This is to ensure files don't get lost. I'm thinking the box may have been scanned by someone who has been unable to complete it due to sickness or maternity leave. And no one has "released" the box back into the system for someone else to continue with it.

If it is the case, I hope that they are not waiting for her to come back from maternity leave.

Some people mention an app where they can check the case status, and I will like to know what app it that?

Does that app let you see what cases were approved every day?

The apple app is called "USCIS case tracker" and you can find it in the App Store.

I don't know how to find it for other phone/tablet types.

Hi all,

New here, I filled and sent I-130- IR 2 in April and received NOA1 in 5 days later on 28th of April.

I have sent my daughter(1 month old) via DHL from Dublin Ireland to Chicago address which sent it to Nebraska office.

Checking process time today it's saying 5 months? Is that true?

Last year I applied for my self and my son same process but this time it was sent to the California office and receive NOA1 on 22 June 2015 and NOA2 23 of July 2015.

Now I have my visa IR 1 and my son visa IR 2 ready which will expire on 2nd of Sept 2016 but we are waiting on my daughter visa to be ready but it's looking like it going to be long process.

What happen between now and last year to get this much of delay does not make sense to me?

Any advice for me please?

Thanks

California is known for its faster processing times, and they get most of the expedite requests. Nebraska however is not like California. While they're currently speeding up and seem to be meeting more like a 4 month timeframe rather than the estimated 5 months, you'll find that it's nothing compared to California. And there is no way to change where it went.

You'll just get to hang out with us all here for a bit.

Ps: we are not at the slowest service centre .... Just not the fastest. They seem to be approving January cases at the moment.

When it says "5 months", that's actually a good thing, because in their estimates, they do not go any lower than 5 months. That is the target that is set for them. If they are taking longer than 5 months, there will be a specific date that is the oldest date that they are currently working on. (Maybe not technically THE oldest one, but probably the oldest one not in some sort of extended review)

You do not have a timeline so I have no idea if you're doing DCF or not, but you're probably not going to get her visa before your son's expires. I'd think you should probably go ahead and try to get across the border and at least get it stamped, but that is only my guess!!! Don't take that for gospel, please.

If you've been waiting since Nov 30th, you may want to contact your senator for help or try to talk to a supervisor at USCIS and see what the issue is.

The mandated target for I-130 approvals is 5 months. When they go beyond that, it's time to grab your torch and pitchfork =)

Is the father of your daughter a US citizen? If so, can she not acquire citizenship that way so that you don't need to petition for her?
