Well, not everyone =) *Eventually* we want the permanent visa, but sometimes we just want to get our family into the US (i.e. home) as quick as possible.

Lol, so true that's why I filed the I-129f as well. But they really don't grant them even more when you file the I-130 too. It's like a 1 to 1,000,000 chance that it would get approved first. But I wouldn't tell anyone to hold their breath waiting for it to get approved first. Cause it's a slim to none chance that it will.

I totally agree with you. There are still a lot of unapproved cases from early January and we are now seeing some February approvals. It makes me wonder if this system is really based on "first-come, first-serve" as there is no logic at all in the way they approve petition.

I think that this system is more of a ballot where people get approved by drawing lots. This is how I imagine this process now. It feels like playing tombola or bingo and hoping for your number to come out....

This is unfair as this immigration process has a serious impact on people's lives causing a lot of financial hardship and distress. This should not boil down to chance.

I find it hard to cope with the separation after years of living together and I am getting a bit fed up with having to work extra night and weekend shifts to pay for airfares and annual leave...

I'm quite baffled by the methodology employed. As the November filer kindly provided her LIN receipt number, I looked on the app at the files around that date. I found no fewer than 22 I-130 files from November 30 that have not been touched. They are still in "case was received" status. It almost makes me think they have lost a box of files.

Whilst I can accept that employee Bob is working on files from February 1 and employee Fred is working on February 7 because employee Fred is faster or happens to have easier files to process in his latest pile, I can't understand why either Bob or Fred picked up the February files off the shelf when several November files haven't been touched.

These are not orders for new living furniture sets that we are waiting on. These are the approvals we need from the government to live with our spouses. How awful it must be for November filers to see February files processed in the same building before theirs.

I am sick of the separation too. In a moment of craziness I bought a ticket to go back to see my husband on June 1.

This is very good for you. It will make the time fly by. My husband is coming to visit me in June.

There is no methodology of any kind. I don't even think that the files are sorted in boxes. It sounds like files are just thrown in a large bucket like tomobola tickets and they pick files ramdomly.

Also I have 3 different dates:

01/25/16: the date our case was received according to the app

01/26/16: Notice of Action date on the i797 hard copy

02/01/16: Last time our case was touched according to the USCIS website.

What do you think about these 3 dates? Which one should be considered as our PD?

01/26/16 ... Because the i797 is the official document. And the last date which is when it was "touched" is probably when your receipt number was added online. Bear in mind they send your i797 THEN add you to the online system.

In my case I'm 24th March noa1 but am still not online (although I have spoken to them and confirmed my case is live)

Got married: 26th Sep 2013

I-130 Petition Process:

NOA2: 3rd Aug 2016

Petition sent to NVC: 18th Aug 2016

NVC Stage

Case number assigned: 8th Sep 2016

Paid AOS Fee: 9th Sep 2016

Paid IV Fee: 14th Sep 2016

DS-260 submitted: 25th Jan 2017

AOS & IV Package sent: 25th Jan 2017

Expedite requested: 25th Jan 2017

Expedite approved (consulate only): 1st Feb 2017

Scan Date: 31st Jan 2017

Case Complete: 14th April 2017 (10 weeks 4 days)

Full expedite approved (bypass NVC to send file to embassy), however too late as I already had case complete 17th Apr 2017

Case arrived at Embassy: 21st April 2017

P4 letter received: 26th April 2017 (expedite at embassy stage so this came from the consulate, not NVC)

Medical date: 26th April 2017

I just looked on the app.

A few cases right before us got approved on Friday. And the case right after ours got an RFE on Friday.

It looks like that:

LIN....34 approved on May 20th

LIN....35 approved on May 20th

LIN....36 approved on May 20th

LIN....37 received on January 26th (our case)

LIN....38 RFE sent on May 20th

LIN....39 approved on May 20th.

I guess we got an unlucky number :-(

I guess Im just unlucky... Well my husband got to speak with a tier 2 officer on thursday, and he said that our expedite request was approved, however that was on may 13th and so far we got no mail or anything else from uscis...

Let´s just keep on waiting and hoping, Mine is LIN1690225616... Not sure what LIN´s are the ones you´ve checked but if they are the ones before mine I´m still very far behind... What app do you check? Or do you just add all receipt nbrs previously and following to yours?:

This is encouraging to see they have reached the end of January. January 30 and 31 were Saturday and Sunday so the month ends on January 29th for USCIS.

Looks like you got unlucky, though. Maybe today?

I don't know but after looking at the data on VJ, I realised that same-sex couple applications seem to take longer to be approved so this is probably be the reason why. The lack of luck doesn't help either though.
