How do you even check this? I´ll be honest I´m getting a bit frustrated, my PD is November 30th 2015 :( :( :(

They give ZERO information and/or updates

Arghhhhh

This process is extremely unfair...how can they approve February filers when there are still people waiting since November...this is a no sense....I am a January filer and since this system is only based on luck, I think that I will see a lot of February and March (and maybe April) approvals before us. Hopefully my husband can apply for a voluntary deployment so we can request an expedite. I don't really wanna wait till Christmas for an NOA2...

First meeting: 04/14/12

Wedding: 11/23/15

i130 petition sent to Phoenix Lockbox: 01/20/16

NOA1: 01/26/16 (Notice Date written on I-797c)

NOA2: ???

I did called, no info and they´re not accepting the request because in the website they´re saying November 2nd... so I can only put a request once its changed for any dates after my PD which is November 30th

Whoever you talked to lied to you and I hate to say it but they. I am a Dec filer and my priority date was Dec 11th. I was approved on May 5th. I called them every week or every other week. You are clearly pass your 5 month mark which is Nov 30th. When I called and checked on mine the lady personally told me that if I wasn't approved by the 11th of May to call them back and they would do a inquiry for me and that I could also do it myself on the USCIS website. So I don't understand they keep telling you that cause it's not true at all. Have you tried contacting your local Congressman about your petition??? If not you might want to do that like really soon.

Welcome to the forum,

The first question..... You're going to have to write a informal letter to Nebraska to do the address change. I had to do one for husband in Jamaica.

The second question...... USCIS goes by the received date of the petition. The priority date used for availability purposes only in the NVC stage. It's pretty much irrelevant right now at the moment. The Notice Of Action date is your NOA1 date. I really hope this makes sense and helps you a lil.

hi Ms.F.Brown, thanks for your advice! may i ask if you actually received notice of the address change? as in, did they notify you that they will change your address? or did you just send your letter to nebraska and wait to see if you received your mail finally? haha.

Hey! I see that NVC has received your i130. Nice! Do you know if your i129f has been approved yet?

I'm feeling very down-hearted about it too. It reminds me of when Potomac started taking new cases and they were approved in 2 months but they still had transfer cases from last year that were untouched. Those transferred to Potomac last November in the Big Texas Transfer waited 7 months for approval. It would have been quicker if they'd stayed at Texas.

You would expect that there would be some variance in the dates - the employees work at different speeds and some petitions require more in-depth analysis than others - so you would expect on any given day the approvals to have been filed within 7-10 days of each other to allow for the different work speeds and so on. But you certainly wouldn't expect to see February approvals whilst there are untouched November files.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

I have not received a notice for it yet. But called Nebraska right before I got approved and asked if they have received it yet and they told me yes. But that It would take 30 before it change and about that same time to receive a notice. An that they would send it to NVC along with the petition. So I have to wait another week then I'm going to call NVC again about my petition.

No my I-129f wasn't approved. When the I-130 petition is approved that kicks the I-129f petition out of the queue. Because its no longer valid anymore. An that's good because we want a permanent visa anyway and not the temporary one.

As lunchboxthermos said already. She can't use the USCIS website for her address change. She will have to write a informal letter to Nebraska telling them that they left her apt number off of the notice of action. Here is the link for their address to send the letter too.

Well, not everyone =) *Eventually* we want the permanent visa, but sometimes we just want to get our family into the US (i.e. home) as quick as possible.

I totally agree with you. There are still a lot of unapproved cases from early January and we are now seeing some February approvals. It makes me wonder if this system is really based on "first-come, first-serve" as there is no logic at all in the way they approve petition.

I think that this system is more of a ballot where people get approved by drawing lots. This is how I imagine this process now. It feels like playing tombola or bingo and hoping for your number to come out....

This is unfair as this immigration process has a serious impact on people's lives causing a lot of financial hardship and distress. This should not boil down to chance.

I find it hard to cope with the separation after years of living together and I am getting a bit fed up with having to work extra night and weekend shifts to pay for airfares and annual leave...

Thank up very much "BN&Dw" and It very well does. Cause someone told me that very same thing and I immediately called Nebraska about it ?. They said that it doesn't do anything to the I -130. That whatever your received date is on your NOA1 is the date they go by. An the I-29f doesn't effect the date of the I-130 in any kind of way.
