ALL Nebraska I-130 Filers

September 2015 is the official line that they give, to show that they are within the six months that they are supposed to be within.

Looking on the app, over the last two days Nebraska has approved a huge number of petitions that were filed between November 20 and 24.

This forum represents only a small number if people going through the process. Not everyone who files is a member of VJ but we can get a good idea of dates from our group here. Many November filers have been approved lately.

Yes it is only a number of us on here, but its still an amazing forum. And that november news makes me very happy :-)

The last time I called USCIS and asked them about the Sept 2ND date. The guy told me that the Sept date means that they have finished all the petitions that had dates up to that point. But recent petitions are being approved as well. So we are literally in the any day now pool of the stack.

Yay! We can only hope they are trying to compete with the other service centres and get ahead of them all. Maybe Nebraska will end up coming out on top.

Fingers crossed for you all!

You filed in July? That's ridiculous that you are still waiting. I checked on the app today and they are approving November 20-23 right now.

Have you contacted your local government representative?

No I haven't contacted local govnt but I've talked to couple of immigration lawyers and they said to give them 8-11 months at max before starting anything or it will be further delayed. They said i have option to open WOM case on them but I couldn't understand what that meant. Edited by Mahmuudi

Hey,

I have a question for those who already got approved how long did it take for Nebraska to send your case to NVC? Was it weeks, or within a few days? Also, does anyone know how long it's been taking to receive a case number recently?

Thanks in advance!

Took them about 1 week after the approval notice to send to NVC and then about 3 days after for NVC to receive.

From what the NVC rep is saying, once they receive the file, it takes another 42 days but I'm hoping within 3 weeks.

I was approved March 11. Two weeks exactly after that I received notification that the case was physically sent to NVC and 5 business days after that i called and they had received the case. She said 42 days for case number but she even admitted it almost never takes that long she said in about 2-3 weeks case # should be assigned.

Good luck we'll already half way through this.

I just looked at your timeline, I can't believe you had 6 months of just waiting before they sent your case to NVC. That worries me, mine is in Nebraska too :-(

Yes , it took about 5 months and 3 weeks for approval. and other people waited 6 months too. They do say its usually 5-6 months so just make ur mind up for 6 months and if it happens before( hopefully) then you'll be happy. If it happens at 6 months, you wont be torn. Prepare.

Hopefully though they had speed up and doing it at 5 months/

We were approved March 9th. Received the e-mail from USCIS very early on the morning of March 10th that we had been approved. I didn't get the paper NOA2 for about 5 days after that. The afternoon of March 22nd, I got an e-mail saying our case had been sent to the Department of State (NVC). I called NVC yesterday, March 31st and the lady told me that they just received our petition on March 28th and that I needed to give them 42 days to get it put into the system and then we would have a case #. I plan on calling each week until I get it as I know it probably won't take the 42 days.

Petitions for beneficiaries based in the Philippines are expedited.

Don't get your hopes too high when you see a timeline where the beneficiary is Filipino.
