is there a difference between usc and lpr when it comes to filing and the amount of time to get approve? Because when I was going through some peoples timeline, Some got approved after 2 mos or less. and some filed around december too (nebraska service center). are they also looking at the country where the beneficiary is from? because it looks like they approving fast those who are from the philippines

Hi,

I don’t think there is a difference in regards to USC and LPR when it comes to USCIS processing times. I think is a matter of each individual case and also the country in question. As individuals, some people may require additional background checks for a number of reasons, ppl with similar names, same names, red flags. Some say that it doesn’t matter what country it is or what is happening in that country but I think it makes sense that war, terrorism etc plays a part in these processing times. Idk this is my reasoning . USCIS is a rolling ball of luck if you ask me LOL.

Someone may have a more accurate answer to your question though.

I doubt the processing differs for USC vs PR but i 've also noticed there are certain countries that seem to get through much faster at the same SC. But what to do. I know the wait is frustrating just hang in there!

Hip hip hoorah and yipee kiyay!!!! Got our approval today for our I-30 petition . NOA2. I got a text that said my case had been updated and a link. I was scared to go look. I thought why didn't they just text and say it was approved? I was afraid it would be an RFE. But it said on Feb 11 your petition was approved!!!! Filed Aug 18. So it was over 5 months but less than 6. Our anniversary is Feb 18. I'll gladly accept this anniversary gift to us.

For filing, there doesn't seem to be a difference for processing time. However, from what i've read the Philippines are getting automatically expedited no matter which processing center gets the petition.

The obvious difference would be at NVC not USCIS. LPR - waits for PD to become current to proceed whilst the USC proceeds on to the next step normally.

At USCIS, yes, I believe they mainly look at the the country the beneficiary is from. We didn't send proof of bona fide marriage like everyone here has suggested, just the affidavit of witness from 2 people and the marriage certificate - we got approved in 5 months & 6 days. The beneficiary in our case is from Fiji - not a high fraud country. Usually, cases at USCIS for philippinos gets automatically expedited and the obvious reason being (apparently) the many natural disasters that has hit the country.

All the best!
