Visa Delivery Time

Hi there.

We had our K-3 visa interview at the embassy in London on Thursday Dec 21st and were approved. Although it's been two full weeks since our interview, it's only been 5 working days due to the holidays, but we still haven't received our passport back. We called the courier service this afternoon and they haven't received it from the embassy yet, which means it won't be delivered to us tomorrow either. We've been told by many people on this board and at the embassy that the visa comes within 5 working days. The courier service has just told us that it can be 10-15 working days for them to receive the passport back from the embassy. This is the first time we've heard this and it seems inconsistent with what everyone else is telling us. Has anyone out there heard of this timeline (10-15 working days) or has anyone had to wait that long to hear back from the embassy?

Also, has anyone else had their interview around the same time as us and if so, have you received your passport back yet?

We've had to reschedule our flights twice now and need to decide how far back to push it!

Thanks for any help.

You had your interview at a really awkward time IMO. Lots of public holidays and staff having time off. There is going to be a delay so I would suggest you try to relax a bit.

As D said, I had to wait a month for mine. Bethanie had to wait two weeks. Factor onto that the fact that your interview was over a holiday period and you're going to experience a bit of a delay.

A month?!?!? Was there any problem with your paperwork, or was it really just processing time? We realize it's a bad time of year, but at the embassy they told us it "would be up to 5 days". I really wish they'd just be honest about it- it's impossible to plan anything with such unreliable information.

Oh well, I guess it will all be over soon....

Thanks for the support.

Up to 5 days is their standard response.

They told us it would arrive in two days......two days......two weeks.....same difference. Sadly you get it when you get it and there isn't a darn thing you can do about it. Wish we could all tell you a definite date, but there is no way to do that. Hopefully it will turn up in the next day or two. Just know that soon, this will be behind you and thank goodness you forget quickly what all of this hurry up and wait ####### was like.

And it was REALLY bad. I remember it well, so I can sympathise with the OP completely.
