Anyone else getting tired of the "ban _____" nonsense? Hardly anyone wants to ban guns from existing. But no matter how many times you tell them that, it doesn't register. They'll just link more stories to more things that kill people and make the oh so witty "ban this" comment. Yawn.

It seems a lot of gun owners (as exemplified on here) appear to lack a sense empathy.

That's rather worrying really.

Based on what I've read here in the past couple years, all the gun aficionados truly care about is that no one messes with their right to own as many guns as they want. Everything else, including thousands of senseless deaths each year are secondary at best.

What is even more frightening is that we have to all tip toe around in here and use pronouns and innuendos, instead of just replying and confronting a post we disagree with, with just a little snarky thrown in

I'd rather none of it happen. And I certainly wouldn't be glad or say "that's what he gets" after he's dead.

you can't change what is ... and this is he is dead by his own stupidity.

your inference of "glad" he is dead ... not glad or sad. it is simply a documented fact by the local authorities that he is dead.

don't care what tool he used in his demise ... gasoline, electricity, jumping off a building, etc

I am glad he did not take out his girlfriend, the kids, or any other innocent with his stupidity. that would have been tragic.

his action was self determination for the direction of his life.

You equated this to survival of the fittest..............

And consistently and openly talks about how dumb all liberals are.

Suicide just means "self killing", like regicide means king/queen killing and matricide means mother-killing.

Where is the intention in it? Is is because of the "kill" part? Either way, intentionally or unintentionally, he did kill himself.

The Latin origin translates to "of oneself kill" I agree, however to a letter almost every English definition includes "Intentionally".

My point in bringing it up is that the article reports that it was an accidental event. Yet the ME rules the death a suicide, in my mind they are two completely different things, similar to voluntary and involuntary manslaughter.

If I am killed on the job accidentally it's likely my family will receive some compensation for my death but if I intentionally end my own life they wont.

To me there is a big difference.
