I just got off the phone with NVC - VERY painless, by the way - all of 2 minutes on the phone, including hold time. They forwarded my petition to Paris on December 28! Yahoo!!

ETA: Dammit, I mean NEXT stop. Not NEST.

Congratulations! Hope you get an interview scheduled really soon!

Thanks! Me too. That way I can stop obsessing, even for just a few minutes!

Was I supposed to get another case number from NVC, by the way? I was too excited and hung up before she gave me one.

The NVC does assign a case number specific to the embassy you're going through. I received a letter from the NVC when my case was forwarded with the new number on it. If you don't receive a letter, you can always call and ask them what your case number is.

And that's the case number that I will be able to check at Paris with, I'm sure. I just tried to call again, and now I can't get through!! I'm so dumb!!
