accurate processing time

I do not think the estimated wait time for TSC is accurate for the average case. The Philippines cases are being expedited (most cases receive approval in less than 30 days) which lowers the estimate but does not accurately reflect what is happening for a non-expedited case.

Also, I've seen a number of users who have listed as TSC as their service center that are really CSC. Since everyone mails their K-1 application to the Texas lockbox...users often put TSC for the initial service center...then enter a "transfer" to CSC when they get their NOA1. So they are really CSC but since they put TSC as their "inital" center, Igor's list (and i'm guessing the graphs on the processing time page) includes those cases in the TSC data. CSC has been processing faster than TSC - so again, the average time for TSC is inaccurately lowered.

it got my hopes up in the beginning when my estimate was showing mid-February.

Imma just give up I guess until I get an email from them

I don't think it's accurate as well. I think it depends where your significant other lives.

I've heard that Philippines is much quicker than most places. Canada too.

By the way, I received by NOA1 within a week of filing the petition. Then I see now that they changed the Alien registration number. I heard that means they will approved it in a week or so.

Can you imagine from NOA1 to NOA2 it took 2 weeks.

petitions are not adjudicated quicker or slower based on the applicant's country. in the case of the philippines, there is a blanket expedite at the moment for applicants who live in the areas affected by the recent natural disaster. for all other cases, the foreign beneficiary's nationality will not affect the speed of approval at the uscis level.

Everything is an estimate at this point. After going through almost every processing time I could find I was expecting our NOA2 in at least 2.5-3 more weeks if not longer, however we received it this past Monday, which was 26 days from NOA1. It was made worse since everyone was saying Philippines was getting theirs due to the typhoon, so I thought that these numbers were skewed and I was actually thinking the worst, but that definitely was not the case.

I mean, we can always speculate, and I guess I can myself as well saying that Thailand is getting fast approvals now due to the political situation, but again, most, if not all of us do not have any concrete information. It's a terrible waiting game at this point, we all just have to hang in there.

-Jan 24th, 2014 sent in I-129F

-Jan 31ist, 2014 received NOA1 via text/email. Arrived at CSC

What does affect the speed? I realize it probably is (or most definitely is) a lottery in some regards, but I do start to worry as to what could have gone wrong. I know it's probably stupid, but I'm sure we've all been there at some point.

We submitted everything our lawyer told us too (& more). I didn't find the VJ forum until after submission.

in my experience, even calling and finding out that the petition has not been processed yet, might be ensuring for a teensy second but after that you return to the waiting game. there is nothing you can do, besides wait. it is quite hard to accept though. also i found it terribly depressing to constantly compare timelines and "countries" also you should remember, they don't judge your relationship, just do security checks and gather evidence.

will try to not wait-wait for a while, let's see how many hours we will last.

my love, the usc, is already considering moving out of the country for me, because he is so annoyed by the random procedure, oh well:)

good luck to everyone in this game...

oh! my! we got approved! so I strongly suggest to try to "not-wait" for a little while and not to get too caught up in all of this and then it will resolve and move along! also your mood will be better.

on csc: yes their processing seems quicker, though we can only see a fraction of actual petitions on visajourney, so you have to take all stats with a grain of salt!

on tsc: we also called a while back and all customer reps tell you that we have to honor the 5 months processing time starting from noa1. there is nothing to be done about it, either a) check if you meet the expedite criteria b) write to your congress-wo-man in due time

i will update the timeline now, thank you for this space of knowledge and encouragement!

Your application was processed at CSC, correct? CSC has been processing much faster than TSC --- even for non-expedited cases. I have seen a number of CSC applications approved in 30 days or less.

But you are right - it is just a waiting game. Unfortunately, those at TSC are having to wait a little longer on average.

Congrats on getting your approval so fast! :)
