But guns are the problem, not the law?

Both. Mix them and you get what a columnist recently referred to as Planet NRA.

This is life in Florida — guns everywhere, and laws that favor the trigger-happy. Shoot first, then cry self-defense.

Kids playing rap music too loud? Lock and load.

Some guy texting at the movies? Teach him some manners.

Don't walk away from an argument when you can end it with a bullet. Stand your ground and hope you get the right jury.

But is was not Murder was it, or he would still be in jail

Which is where he belongs. Unfortunately the system doesn't always work.

I'm still waiting to hear what detail the media must be missing in this case.

The witness, his own GIRLFRIEND, did not back up his story. The police did not back up his story. So what did the judge hear that everyone else didn't?

The guy was wasted, is legally blind, and the one other person who was there says that he KILLED a man without a reason to do it. And he walks.

I'm very curious as to HOW.

Because from a 2 paragraph blurb, from the third estate, who always sensationalizes and bends every fact , you know more than the judge who spent hours listening to testimony and days reviewing facts.

All hail Penny

I'm not claiming to know more than the judge. I'm asking what this super top-secret piece of info was that the judge could have heard that nobody is reporting. Because I'd think that witness testimony (the only person who was not drunk off their #### the evening of the incident) would be pretty damning, no? Or police statements? I'm wondering what could have trumped them both.

And the best news is that a man with a drinking/violence problem (both of these incidents with his guns have been while he was drunk) ... gets his guns back. That's not asking for trouble at all.

I don't know and you don't either, but I can promise you a superior court judge did not just cut someone loose if the facts are as presented.. You got about 20 seconds of summarized testimony

BTW it's drunk OFF not OF

The media is the Fourth Estate...

This is a textbook example of what happens when a person tries (and fails) to use complex phraseology to make themselves sound well-read and intelligent.

I corrected it before you could even comment on it. You're slow. :)

In the Rogers case, jurors heard two conflicting sets of facts: What Rogers said happened, that he fired a shot because he was under attack, and what the victim's girlfriend said, that the shooting was unprovoked.

Chris White, chief of operations for the State Attorney's Office in Seminole County, said his office had not yet decided whether to appeal Friday's ruling.

Rogers has a history of violence. Four years ago, he fired 15 rounds from a handgun at Michael Rogers, his roommate and cousin, following a night of drinking and fighting in Geneva, according to court records.

Michael Rogers suffered scrapes but no gunshot wounds. The defendant was charged with aggravated assault but, in a deal with prosecutors, pleaded no contest to a lesser charge — unlawfully displaying a firearm — and was placed on probation.

That was revoked, however, when he pushed and punched a woman a year later, something that resulted in him spending 71 days in the Seminole County jail for domestic violence, according to court records.

This is totally someone who should be walking around armed. Absolutely.

Call me crazy but doesn't it strike anyone as a bit demented that a legally blind person would be allowed to own a gun in the first place? What are they going to do with it.

You can't drive a car if you're blind but shooting a gun is OK?

Of course not. What would that fella do without his guns? So he may drop a few more bodies. That's a small price to pay for your freedom, no?

 Sure. Never happened before.

Also, Galluzzo's a circuit court judge, not a superior court judge.
