GOT THE NOA2 HARD COPY. Whats next??

 Share

16 posts in this topic

Recommended Posts

I received the Hardcopy the other day and I read that I should wait a minimum of 30 days before contacting the NVC.

What can I do in the mean time??

I have read the guides and forums, but I'm still confused up to this point as to what will follow next.

I understand that every embassy is different, so whats your experience?

Will the embassy be sending something to my fiancé thru mail or email? I can't seem to remember if we put his email address on any of the demographics.

Will the NVC send me anything, some notification??

Whats next, please help. I'd hate to stay dormant while waiting for NVC.

THANKS IN ADVANCE..

Call NVC everyday until you get the MNL case #, that's all you need to move forward with paying the visa fee and scheduling your interview

Follow these instructions very well.

oh ! Manila IV, yer saying?

That's different, then.

You should find and read Hank_ 's Handy-Dandy, Neeto-Keen (yet spiffy) Guide to SuperFast K-1 Visa Chasing in Manila,

it's always a link in his signature area.

So, find one of Hank_ 's posts in the PI forum, study the link from a PC (turning 'show signatures on' in YOUR profile)

and go forth.

It's chock full of info, dense, and must be reread often - think of it as yer new Bible for the next 3 months.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

What about for the I-134?

Do I really need bank statements from an official at the bank or are the monthly statements that I receive in the mail sufficient enough? Or can I just print out all the account info from my online banking??

Call around the 4th or 5th business day to get the MNL#. Don't forget to ask if the package was sent to the USEM.

It's up to you to follow the instructions of the I-134, but your fiance should have all the documents needed to support the information on the I-134 at the time of the interview. Getting a letter from the Bank isn't very difficult. I merely asked the branch manager and it was ready for me in a few days.

As evidence of resources for the I-134 I had both the letters from my Bank as well as the last 3 months of statements. But to be honest, neither the screener nor the CO even looked at my I-134 supporting evidence. Just the I-134. Better to be prepared than not to have something they need at the time of the interview.

They didn't look at your I134? Is that because you sent some info related to your I134 i.e. tax returns and/or employment verification during the initial petition? or is it I134 is not a serious requirement? Just curios...

I'll rephrase. They only looked at my I-134 and none of my supporting evidence (VOE, bank statetment, Pay stubs, ITR). My guess is that my income was more than sufficient to support 2 visa recipients (K1 and K2).

The I-134 is a requirement for the interview at the USEM Manila.

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I would suggest waiting 7-10 business days before contacting NVC after you got notice from USCIS. Both call and email NVC, info in my link.

Your fiance does not need to wait for anything from the embassy to get the process rolling. All you really need is the MNL # which you receive from NVC...once you have that it is ROCK 'n' ROLL time!

Follow the flashing arrow below this post. Do some reading while waiting for the MNL #. Print out the embassy instructions letter, use it as your checklist.

Nope you do not need bank statements if you income is adequate to meet or exceed the poverty guidelines of the I-864P. All that is required by the embassy is your most recent tax return and W-2. Bank statements are optional and only needed if you are using banking assets to qualify.
