Congrats Shetty and good luck!

Sata, I didn't find such a requirement, that petitioner must reside in US, while beneficiary is taking interview. The petitioner can visit you, I don't see a problem here. I've read some cases, where petitioner and beneficiary were entering US together after beneficiary got visa, so in my opinion, it's fine.

As an update, this week makes the 6th week since I submitted my package to NVC. I guess the system is moving a little slow or as indicated the process literally takes 4 to 6 weeks to complete.

My plan is to wait until I complete my interview before I make any solid plans to move to the US.

Let the good news start rolling in. I went to the social security office yesterday to fill out a form for my social security card. Information is very important in this country not everyone knows the requirements so please make sure you research always and ask people no matter how stupid your questions sound.

Guys,

Since submission of my package in August, I have been checking CEAC and my e-mail every day just waiting for an update. The CEAC site indicates my package is at NVC and I have not received any e-mails from NVC about my CC.

Apparently, a mail notification was dropped off for me at the end of September and I was not aware. I went to visit my relative who lives in the same yard as I do this morning and I found the mail notification. At this time I am suspecting its from NVC but am freaking out now as the deadline for pick up was Friday 14th October and I literally just found the notification this morning.

Has anyone had an experience where their case status indicates in process at NVC but still got a CC and IL in the mail?

From my experience NVC doesn't always update their website immediately.

NB: Did you check your spam mails also?

Deadline for pick up?

Suggest you schedule you medical date asap and if you suspect you wont be ready in time you try and reschedule your interview.

I do hope things work out for you.

Good luck hun

Jarin,

Thank you for your advice. I will have to visit the post office asap as the deadline has passed for pick up but I am hoping that the package is still at the post office and that it was not returned to NVC.

Ok, SweetV don't panic, try and be at the post office as they open for business tomorrow. You may still have time as your deadline was Friday which would have given upon closing hours to collect it.I assume they did not open yesterday, and if they are to return it then it would be tomorrow. Good Luck. Blessings
