Well, we don't have any F1 September members here, and all guys who has October PD just received their welcome letters, so I would be VERY surprised if it would move till december.

Hello :) ... I have October 19th PD and haven't received any letter :(

Status at NVC won't change till they will forward your case to the local consulat.

You should log in here:

https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx

If you don't have your Invoice number, call to NVC and ask for it. Then log in here, your case is definately already open. When you'll complete DS-261, you'll receive your welcome letter, that's what happened to me.

Oh ok! I will try calling NVC then. I have my case with a lawyer and he didn't say anything yet, I'm just waiting...

Since I already have a lawyer from the beginning of the process, I thought I didn't need to fill DS-261 and I just needed to wait for the welcome letter. Am I correct?

Oh, ok, then your lawyer will have to file forms for you, but anyway, you can get your Invoice ID, update your email address at NVC and then check your case process.

It is really already open, time to process it:-)

oh ok, indeed, I will be in contact with my lawyer. I tried calling NVC today but it's Federal Holiday, I'll call later to get my invoice ID.

Thanks for the info.

@omoade, is there a difference in the name on the registration of birth and the new certificate? If no difference then you can take both or just present one If there is a difference then you need the affidavit and the new one. If they ask for the affidavit you show it. In my brothers case, the name on his registration of birth which he sent to nvc is different from the one on his passport. So he got an affidavit and npc birth certificate. I noticed it's the name on his passport that was used to issue the interview letter.

Thanks @dove...there is no difference. Went for medicals it was smooth the one on the island total cost was 30k. Though the doc complained about my BP I hope that won't be a minus for me ?
