Cool...U'll receive your IL after they receive it then. Just try to call to ensure its been received. Wil do my medicals first week of September. It's even my birth certificate I have issues with. I realize I don't have the original copy. Just stuck at the moment. Don't know if affidavit will do. Or I should go stamp that one as a certified copy.

@ omoade, if the birth certificate is from national population then get an affidavit to correct it, if not go to national population to get a birth certificate from there, you will need the affidavit or declaration of age for that.

@dove ..it's actually registration of birth from the local government way back. That's what I have been using since. It's what I sent to NVC. So if I get a new one from national population with affidavit will it hold to present at the embassy..

@ omoade, no need to back date. A birth certificate is valid no matter the date as long as it's from the authorised body.

Hi,

Are you F1? Does your father petitioned you?

Or your father is F3 and you are his eldest son who aged out?

My Father was petitioned by his Parents (F3) but since my Mom died during the process, he was Upgraded to F1.

yes, I'm the eldest who aged out.

Sorry for the late reply, been busy compiling all the documents.

You take the affidavit to support the new birth certificate. My brother has same issue so he's taking the new birth certificate and affidavit along to the interview.

@omoade, is there a difference in the name on the registration of birth and the new certificate? If no difference then you can take both or just present one If there is a difference then you need the affidavit and the new one. If they ask for the affidavit you show it. In my brothers case, the name on his registration of birth which he sent to nvc is different from the one on his passport. So he got an affidavit and npc birth certificate. I noticed it's the name on his passport that was used to issue the interview letter.
