DNA Test and Additional Documents for Paternity

Hi can someone answer this post, I recently filed for my father, my parents were never married and my father's name was not added at birth. A late addition was done to my birth certificate which is also shown at the bottom of the page. We went in for the interview and was asked to do a DNA test along with other documents. Baptismal records, old school record etc. The problem is that I don't have old photos of us nor baptismal records. I might be able to get my high school record, my question here is have anyone gone through this process and what document(s) would be considered sufficient along with the DNA?

So I will have the DNA and my high school record but nothing else is that enough to go back in to Immigration?

Thanks.

Hi Pickneygal,

Any documents shows that he had supported you financially as a child till you were 18 years old would help such as old school records, old photos or old documents showing you lived with him as a child/teenager would be very helpful such as your driver license and his driver license that showed the same address. Affidavits of friends and relatives may be also helpful too. I think baptismal records, old school record and photos are very important document if you can find them. Hope this help.

It would be really great if I was to get my interview letter this month. I would be surprised as well, based on the prediction of two to four weeks. I am praying that if it does not come through this month that it does next month. Cassanoa you should be getting yours as well. As soon as I get my letter I will inform you guys!!!

How was your interview today haljbr? I hope it was okay !

Hi,

My interview was 3 days ago.

Its easy to get green card when everything (all docs) are complete.

And it was my case.

I arrived at 7:00 Am and around 9:00 it was done.

She just said:

1. Do you swear say the truth ...

2. Who did apply to you (my mother)

3. Is she US citizen (yes)

4. How many time does she lives there (more than 10 years, around 13 years)

5. what do you do in brazil (Telecommunications system analyst)

6. Why do you want go now to USA (I always wanted to go)

7. What (I want to go to live with my mother)

8. Ok your visa was aproved.

At points 6 and 7 - I said that I always wanted to go to USA, but she was expecting to hear that I want to live there to be with my mother.

As I can see the main purpose of these type of visa (FB1) is: family reunification. So I must say that I wanna go to be with her

My passport is valid till 7 september, so they must give limit to go 2 months before expiration date. I must be there till 7 july.

Some importantes questions that I learned with my process:

* unmarried means unmarried. If you was married and divorced you continue being unmarried.

* Just answer what they ask. Don´t try explain why 1 + 1 = 2. You can be sure they know

* If you are here on this journey (FB1, FB2,...) you have the RIGHT to have your green card, you are just waiting the queue. Don´t be nervous at interview.

* Search through forums and advices but always ask for the (legal) source of the information.

* fill out all the forms, say the truth and have all the docs.

I hope all the good people (just these ones) at this forum can get their visas.
