What do you mean by case complete? The last letter we recieved from NVC was back in 2009 when they said that our petition was approved but we have to wait for visa number to become available.

Case complete meaning the petitioner has submitted the Affidavit of Support to NVC and the beneficiary has submitted his civil documents to NVC.

Its time to pick up that phone and call NVC so your father (or his petitioner) can inquire about the case status. Make sure your dad has the MNL case number on-hand because the NVC agent will ask for it.

Oh ok. Thanks I'll ask my uncle about that.

Why uncle?

If your father is under F1 category (Unmarried Sons and Daughters of U.S. Citizens), his petitioner should be his PARENT (mother or father).

If your uncle is his petitioner (his brother/sibling), then your dad is under the F4 category (Brothers and Sisters of Adult U.S. Citizens).

My uncle lives with my grandma and they're both in US. My grandma petitiond my father twice. The first one was when she was still LPR but my dad married. After my grandma became US citizen she petitioned him again. Then my mom died. My grandma is really old. My last conversation with my uncle he said that we should wait for a letter to arrive. I have no idea if they've already done Affidavit of Support.

So your dad was F3 (Married Sons and Daughters of U.S. Citizens), unless they converted his status back to F1 (sorry about your mom (F)).

You have lots of sorting out to do with your uncle. Good luck.

Shema,

Sorry for the delay response. I wasn't asked for the x-ray but on the website it said to have it on hand, so I kept it in my carry on all I had in hand was the packet they gave me and my passport. Entering the USA and getting your temp greencard is by far the easiest part, it takes about 6-7 years for get a visa and about 10 mins to get a green card.

After arriving at the airport, I entered the US citizen and US resident line which is all marked clearly. The officer performs his scan and document check, then asked me to follow him to the processing room, this wan't really a room just an open space at the back. The officer then took my finger prints, and ask me to sit down and wait. Ten mins later I was given back my passport with instructions about SS# and I was sent off.

Thanks so much for replying Cassanoa. Congratulations on your easy entry into the US. Hope you get the green card soon.

Sorry guys! ... I found this at some immigration news blog :

"At the recent American Immigration Lawyers Association annual meeting, DOS officials also shared a prediction about movement (or lack thereof) in the family-based categories, namely that the cut-off dates for September, the last month of the fiscal year, are expected to be the same as or similar to those seen in July."

But even so my priority date is April 23rd, just one day away from the current cut off date and I still have not received my letter. I called them twice since this month started and they have no news so I am wondering if its leaning more towards no movement.

Case Completed: June 3, 2011

I/L Received: August 14, 2014

In F2B, 31-July 2007 applicant has a Interview date at 24 Sept 2014. And in F1, being in June 2007 PD still dont see if I can get the Interview in November 2014. This is a huge loop hole in the immigration system :(

Can we get an update about Il from KERBIT, FOL0507, RICK_ES_USA ---- plz share what was the response from NVC for your call ?

Does this mean retrogression for F1 Philippines? Lol back to Jan2003 from June2004. I'm hoping it remains June2004.

This is because everyone is loading on F1 boat, F2b is empty right now and sailing ahead ...

We especially those who converted our cases frm F2b to F1 has become fools literally. But, why these people dont understand this problem and they should allocate numbers equally in both categories if F2b's numbers are remained unused ... both categories has 23,400 numbers each for a given year these numbers can be used efficiently if planned well while budgeting.

Moreover, they have fasten up the Philippines and Mexicans F1 dates this year, those F1s moved superbly you can check them by comparing Oct 2013 bulletin with this august 2014 dates.

Maybe, this slowdown happens in attempt to incite the boost of those dead categories of Philippines and Mexico. Additionally, the numbers of applicants (Unmarried Son & Daughter over 21) are same in this world but their status has changed over the period of time, and this inequality and bias behavior is new to this hundred years old immigration system which urgently requires some major amendments to over come this kinda issues.

This aint' something we have control over. I would change my status to back F2b in a split second if I could. Unfortunately, no one outside the Philippines seems to be aware of CASPA and you know more about this issue than any of us
