An year ago the FB1 movement in July was 38 days, Aug 90 days and Sept was 14 days. It was the golden era.

01-Jun-06 38

01-Sep-06 90

15-Sep-06 14

As I observed last month, there is not much similar trend this year like last year, it is just slowing down.

Usually there is a big jump around august/september visa bulletins, right before the end of the fiscal year.

Throughout the year they are always conservative on the VB movements and then push it forward by big leaps right before October to use up any unassigned visa's prior to the new fiscal year.

Hang in there everyone.

Is there anyone else out there with a priority date prior to my date of April 23rd? Also the discussion board need some much needed activity to keep hope alive so if anyone has anything at all to post please do so. It's depressing when there is no activity. Thanks.

If you didn't receive an IL does it mean that this month's movement will be less than 23 days?

Can't say for sure but Elsie received her letter and she is April 6th so maybe 2 weeks movement but there was no one else on the board with dates between us. If anyone saw a later date on any other sites out there please share that will help us to better predict our faith.

Hi guys,

Hang in there. The waiting process can be very frustrating but the fact is that the Dates are moving with no plans to retrogress. I have a brother and sister waiting with pds July 6, 2007 and August 7, 2007.

The wait always feels the longest when you are on the door of being current. My advise is for you all to enjoy your lovely countries while you can and take joy in the fact that you are within months of seeing the end of this frustrating process.

r0cks0lid stay put!! There is no need to further complicate an already complicated process. You soon will be current.

And please remember the your parents would have to be citizens for you to be in the FB1 category so there is no going back.

In light of this very slow progress of F1 visa PD, can I convert my F1 visa back to F2B?

Hi Rocksolid,

I have found this while surfing on net about this F1 to F2b conversion, please read it:

"Under Section 6 of the CSPA, the applicant can request exemption from the automatic conversion of the visa category from F2B to F1 by submitting to the Department of Homeland Security/U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (DHS/USCIS) a written statement that he elects to have such conversion revoked."

I think we need to read more about Section 6 of the CSPA to understand it better. Though, even legal advice also agrees with the fact that there is a provision which has been exercised by Phillipines' people at most bcoz they have seen F2b advancement over F1 since a very long time, but now the rest of the world is also affected with this problem.

Its like balancing the weight on two arms, both F1 and F2b have equal numbers i.e. 23,500 for an year. But, in previous months when every category were retrogressed badly for a very long period in year 2011, then people like us who were waiting in F2b were looking at F1 with that temptation to being current soon. Meanwhile, our petitioners got naturalized and we gt converted as an F1 successfully. But, the queue which we left gt shorter eventually and moves faster now and we have put more load on F1 alone, this was in fact equally shared by both categories before.

Here are some links regarding this, you may go through them:

Hey Tenthwave,

Do u receive anything yet from NVC?? I mean any paper like Choice of Agent Form or DS forms?? I just wanna know that when they gonna open 2008 cases. More than half of 2007 applicants were approached by NVC before the Great Retrogression of 2011 took place. Do let us know if any progress takes place in your case, actually your pd is nearby mine thats why I am asking you.
