I don't think there will be any movement in the VB for F1 - ROW, China and Philippines for rest of fiscal year, as the last VB there was movement was in June.  So there may not be any forward. movement till October.

my pd is current from march so there is a visa available for me

Hi Guys,

I have been away for a minute trying to get my life in order here in the US.  After going through my long 7 years journey to get my GC, I must say the journey continues. This month will make eight months since I relocated to the US.  I must be honest, the journey has been rough at times but thank God for family support out here other wise it would be a lot worst.  Even though I came here with my MBA that I received in my country...it has been hard landing a job.  I have sent out over 600 applications and I'm still awaiting an opportunity.

With the support of my family, I will not lose hope but my advice is to ensure that when you arrive here in the US that you bring sufficient money that will last for 6-8 months while you job hunt.  The cost of living is high in some parts of the US...especially in the big cities.  Even with my MBA, I am realizing now that I will have to go back to school to get some sort of US certification so that I can increase my chances in the employment pool.

I hope this information will serve as preparation material. My intention is not to discourage anyone because plenty of opportunities are here...but a person must be persistent and also willing to start from the bottom and rebuild,

@Sweet V, thanks for sharing I thought I was the only one struggling with the transition. I relocated from my country with a bachelor in education, a literacy specialist and years of experience and im stilI struggling to find a job in my field. Having gotten numerous promises from persons in the field ( oh how selfish and self centered we can be ) I was encouraged by many that teachers are in demand in New York, but the process of getting your qualifications accredited here is like starting over. I'm working on doing so and in the process I did a course in a field I have no interest in; but had to just to earn. I'm so grateful for my family for holding me down....

I began doing a little networking with a few persons who have migrated as well and struggling. We  share info regarding work, school etc.

To my vj family please plan ahead and have a goal in mind prior to your arrival. All the best going forward.
