Ok, thank you, I thought so, that I'll have to visit the office and about GC, didn't know, that it takes that long to receive it. Been optimistic about this part, that you receive your GC in 2 weeks, even they say it might take up to 30 days, but maybe it depends on the State?

To my knowledge your social security number is yours for life.  You can ask at POE or go to the Social Security office and see if it needs to be updated to your current immigrant status so when an employer looks it up it will say you can be employed.

Update.......got notification today that my Green Card is being produced! So, hopefully I should receive it in the next two weeks, fingers crossed.

call yesterday rep said that jamiaca was still giving out august dates but i don't believe that because on the spread sheet here the last jamaican date given out was june 30

I don't think there will be any movement in the VB for F1 - ROW, China and Philippines for rest of fiscal year, as the last VB there was movement was in June.  So there may not be any forward. movement till October.
