Hey Khadija, well it depends on the representative, what information you'll get. Some of them doesn't know anything and doesn't provide any information. You can't do nothing, just patiently wait, call them once in a while and "push" with a question "When"?

4 months will be on the 26th of May, so I would call then and ask about your case and their timeline for CC. During that time you can email request to NVC "How can I expedite the processing of my case"? Write down your comment, that review is already out of their timeframe and ask when it'll be completed. The answer you'll get in 2 weeks.

If NVC won't finish review your case till 26th of July, then you'll be able to send request to your Senator, that they would check what's going on. That's why, you should know dates, when you contacted NVC during this time and what info you got back. But I believe, that you won't need this step;)

They sent you a formal reply, because your request was submitted on their's timeframe for review, that's why it was formal. For instance, I was losing my patience on the 12th week of waiting, always getting same answer on the phone, that they know, that they are out of the timeframe, then decided to send written request, asking to replay what takes them so long to review it, that i'm waiting already for 12 weeks. After 1 week I received CC letter and after 2 weeks, I got answer to my request, that they completed my case and already scheduled interview date and one day later received an official IL.

Send them request and let them answer whatever it is.

No, I don't think, that you need to send them updated tax returns, you haven't received a checklist for that. Just call another time, get other representative and ask again about your case, if they will ask for taxes 2016, you'll tell, that updated taxes will be provided at your interview, same like probably and PC.

Unfortunately you won't get your IL for June, hopefully for July.

Ok, now you have just wait, hopefully they won't give you a new scan date. It's very weird, that they asked to submit updated financial docs to NVC instead of submitting it at the consulate, that also delays the process.

After I sent the documents I received a letter with missing documents 6-7 weeks after sending the first package. But what you should do is call NVC and tell them you haven't received the missing documents letter. If they know already what you are missing you were supposed to received the letter.  After I sent the missing documents it took 8-12 weeks to receive the CC letter
