I don't like scones. Maybe I've just never had a really good one. They're all so dry to me.

No offense, scone-lovers!

Yes they're SUPPOSED to be dry -- the idea is to dip them in the coffee before eating them !

But I'm not much of a scone eater, either. Maybe it's because I'm not much of a coffee drinker. I guess they'd be good with tea....

How does everyone feel about croissants?

I'm a croissant fan. And I prefer the French croissant to the Italian brioche. Brioche are more sweet while croissants are more buttery.

I love butter!

I think the italians definately know how to do breakfast. Bless those little Capuchine monks.

Did the Cappuccian monks really have something to do with Cappuccino?

Cappuccino means "little hood" in Italian, which I think refers to the foam on top.

Did you ever see the Cappuccian crypt in Rome? - that was pretty cool.

NO I think just their existence as monks was their only contribution.

Oh that crypt is cool. There is something very endearing about decorating with all your fellow monks' bones as a memorial.

You're right! I looked it up and it does have something to do with people seeing a resemblance between their foamy espresso and the particular hoods that the cappuccini wear, not just any old little hood.

Learn something new every day!

Croissants are delicious !

Except when people say croy-sants. Then they taste horrible.

Is a scone like a biscotti? I hate those hard things, they annoy me. Guess I'm not used to dunking things in my coffee :)

(F)

No a scone is more like a bread than a cookie. But scones crumble more cookies than they tear like a normal bread would do. If they are done badly, scones can be very dry.

Some people eat scones like American stylel biscuits and put jam and butter inside them. I prefer to eat scones tat have goodies baked into the batter.

Hi everyone. Found out some news today. Looks like I will be spending a little more time at the doctor's the next few months since they still haven't found the reason to my wierd cycle. So it's either going to be super hard for me to have kids, or I wont be able to have any at all. What a wonderful lunch break for me! Oh well, I always said I wanted to adopt anyway.

Hope everyone is having a great day.
