R u all sure that Obama's so called Executive order for "Modernize immigration visa" will help "Family Immigration"?.

.....................

USCIS will:

  • Work with the Department of State to develop a method to allocate immigrant visas to ensure that all immigrant visas authorized by Congress are issued to eligible individuals when there is sufficient demand for such visas.

............................

 ...As of now the rulemaking involves both Family & Employment Categories...They cant just stop counting derivatives for employment and do the reverse for Family Categories...Rules are not framed in a discriminative way...

Good Luck

Based on the NVC data the total number of visas for China in a Fiscal Year is 6971..and the number of applications are nearly 16000 and above till 2010...So even if you assume the number of waiting list in a year is true from this data.....the visa movement will not drastically change and this also implies for the rest of the countries too...Unless DOS stop counting derivatives, there may not be a big jump.. :clock:

From this chart in the below provided link, which i have posted before... the number of petitions filed are decreasing after 2001 and the only way for visa movement forward in this scenario is if there are less derivatives counted in these petitions..

http://thevisabulletin.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/uscis-naturalization-delays-chart-big.gif

So by March 2015, if GOP passes a immigration bill...then we might see a big jump in April / May 2015 Visa Bulletins..

Good Luck

It's also important to notice that not every single person on this waiting list will finally fill out the paperwork and get a visa! Too many things could happen during the 12 years of waiting. Some got sick, some died, some lost contact with their relatives, some moved, some broke up with families, some aged out, some went to the jail, some may no longer want to immigrate, some immigrated via other visas...

It has been estimated that only 30% - 40% of the people on the waiting list will eventually apply for visa and actually receive the visa.

By not changing and updating the laws, US has really used lot of their brains to mess up this Immigration and make it broken... ;)

It's a neck and neck tie for your brother/sister to decide whether the Father's Gift or Brother's Gift is valuable for his/her future... :P

Good Luck to your brother/sister..

Cut-off date for Feb 2011 visa bulletin : 1st Jan 2000

Cut-off date for June 2012 visa bulletin : 15th Dec 2000

Cut-off date for July 2012 visa bulletin : 8th Jan 2001

Cut-off date for July 2014 visa bulletin : 22nd Dec 2001

Cut-off date for August 2014 visa bulletin : 1st Jan 2002

It took almost 18 months for the year 2000 to get current completely in visa bulletin, whereas it took almost 26 months for the year 2001.

And your pd is june-july 2004, it will take almost 4-5 years for ur pd to get current. If u r lucky enough, then ur pd might get current within 2-3 years (if and only if any immigration reform bill is passed that would favour family-based categories).

Pd 16 june 2004 any one knows about when it will become current and what about cspa

Mine is July 2004 and I am hoping it be current by next 2 years.
