Interview for AOS

Hi everyone!

After putting all together i finally sent the application and hopefully i should receive some notice this week..

I have a concern about the interview:

Is the interview ALWAYS requested?

Is it possible to go to the interview WITHOUT the US citizen if she/he is unable to attend for work related reasons?

(My wife works on a cruise ship and she will be on board until August..)

Also, is it possible to RE-SCHEDULE the interview for that reason?

You say in your signature that you are adjusting from a B2. If that is true, then you will have a mandatory interview and both spouses must be present. You can reschedule.

The forum wording is a little confusing, so don't worry about it A common mistake.

In general, it takes 3-6 months to get an interview, but the timing is up to your local office. If they have open appointments, they will schedule you. You can check the timeline of your local office at uscis.gov. There should be a processing time locator and you will pick your local office, then I-485 to see the time.

They usually schedule interviews about a month in advance.
